Oh god shocking news , i saw From the Jam with him and Foxton a few times but was too young to see The Jam in their heyday RIP Rick
always said i would pay well over the odds to see them live but wellar kiboshed that, yes i get he wanted to move on to new stuff but he could have looked after his 2 pals with the odd gig. rick now passed and bruce foxton packed due to tinnitus , which wouldn't have happened if he didn't have to scrape a living together.
I never got to see them. I couldn’t afford it at that age, and I was only 17 ish when they called it a day. I’d not had a proper job at that age. The Jam years still seem like yesterday to me. The Style Council were a bit wishy washy in comparison, although some of my mates accepted them for Weller & Merton Mick, and some wore the cycling shirts under their parkas and boaters Ha! Weller has been probably doing his own thing longer than the Jam & Style Council combined, but in my mind I still see it as a recent thing, and it can never replace the Jam in my effection.
back in them days you never went to see live bands as the club scene was that good all the bands playing covers were very good. Gents for example.
