Watched Birmingham v Bradford tonight and he looked very good. Wonder if we could sign him or wont he be good enough for us and we would just loan him out
If he's got owt about him he'll put in a transfer request and tell the club to "f cuk off" thus furthering a promising career.
I actually think he will be quite happy with what the club have done for him mate. Plucked him from obscurity & given him a professional contract, a chance so few of us get, played him a few times, and then when injuries or more senior pros have joined, instead of allowing him to rot, he's gone on loan to a very good league 2 club and is playing very well & often!
I personally don't think he would.I would think him and Lopata are now surely better than earl and pines.
Be bad for us if Bradford go up cos I doubt very much he’d want to come back to us if they do. A club with upward momentum playing in front of 18k or one on the slide playing in front of 6 or 7k? We might decide to cash in but for me we ought to be building the defence around him next season.
Doesn’t really matter what he wants. He’s under contract with us for two more season after this. If we want him at Barnsley and playing then that’s what will happen.
Their crowds are very good for L2 - result of sensible pricing for season tickets for many years - but they're not getting 18k. Their headcounting is as creative as ours....
Think many people forget that shepherd was on loan at Cheltenham under Clarke who deemed he wasn’t good enough as didn’t use him loads then and happy to send him on loan this season. I would imagine if Clarke is still here he’s probably going to want to go somewhere that he’s valued which he clearly is at Bradford so unless Clarkes gone I would imagine he will want to move on.
Amazing how players all of a sudden become better with BBS posters once they aren't in Oakwell. Reading here the past 24 hours you'd think him and Cosgrove were Maldini and Messi.
Maybe Clarke saw what we saw a young lad with talent but still raw that needed time at a lower level. Gone to a more than decent club at league 2 level and by the sounds come on leaps and bound great news for both him and us. Hopefully comes back next season to push Earl in position we have no competition win win I would say.
I think he's played when not 100% we have no cover in his position loads of right footed centre half just Earl on the left. The most obvious inbalance in very unbalanced squad.
Bradford and Notts County would stand out as fairly well backed clubs capable of spending some cash if they go up. Possibly Chesterfield too. Don’t want to go all Wednesday here but if we’re starting to struggle to compete with these clubs then the outlook is really bleak.
