I used to work with an old guy...when a nose or ear hair got a bit long he'd singe the end with a lighter....very neat and tidy....I tried it, now perhaps I lacked a bit of skill, but my nostril went up like a Californian Bush fire.
    Never done it since.

A pair of mittens in Disneyland Paris. I was absolutely freezing and they didn’t have any gloves. They have completely and utterly changed my life. My Reynaud’s is almost under control when I wear them on all but the worst days.

My multimeter, obviously, it’s amazing the amount of things I’ve fixed because of that.

A meat thermometer. I used to overcook everything ‘just in case’, or cut something open and it’d be undercooked and then back in it would have to go and everything it touched washed. It takes a few seconds and all the guesswork is gone, perfectly cooked food all the time for about £2 from Amazon.

I bought a pair of red or dead boots, I reckon around 1994ish in the sale for £40. Comfiest footwear I've had and still going strong 30 years later.

A packet of condoms about 1 and 6 pence back in the late 60's just thinking if I had not bought them.
