I think when you're in a war for the very survival of your country, the odd fib (assuming he was lying as you say) is par for the course. The War Office told many lies during WW2 in order to maintain morale and deceive the enemy. It's called propaganda as perfected by the Nazis. In Zelenskyy's position, I'm sure you wouldn't be averse to the occasional lie if it helped the morale of your people and encouraged your "allies" to help your country survive. In peace time lies should have no place in a democracy, Trump seems to have conveniently forgotten that but then again I don't think democracy is on Trump's wish list.
Of course it's all Ukraine fault and it's going be Icelands fault when he invades them too. Ps the country not the shop.
To not allow the Ukranian leader in on talks is absolutely mental, if anything it will fire the flames imo, if Putin gets what he wants then it will go quiet for a few years whilst he builds up is military and modernises is hard wear as well as changing the doctorine from 60 years of tactically inept and poor tactics to a more modern fighting force, scary times, more so with a deal imo, Russia is on its knees, cold war stocks are dwindling, the country is financial meltdown, I'd keep it going, yes they have numbers but many have had a weeks training who dont want to be there, all opinions of course
A mineral deal then. Suggested by Ukraine apparently… give it all to the USA rather than let Russia take it. And to defend this the uk, under the guise of NATO may put boots on the ground… to protect the American mineral deal. Bonkers.
Putin invaded Ukraine, for power an desire which ultimately backfired, it needs a conclusion an the sooner the better.
