Really poor inexcusable batting. He hit a 4 and a 6 in the previous over, so thought he could carry on doing that T20 style. That's the issue with Bazball. You don't have to try and hit every ball to the fence.
England seem too quick to discard some players and then give others a longer stint than you think is needed. What i mean is to discard experience, not to give up on newcomers early. The list posted earlier is a good example. So lets see how many of our batsmen can put in 15 overs at the crease let alone score contributions of game winning runs.
One plus point with Duckett is that he’s a prolific four hitter and shows that he can steer clear of going aerial even in T20’s
https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/phil-salt-669365/matches Woeful form for Salt. One fifty in his last ten games before today, now 11 at least as I can't see how far back his nearest fifty was. How poor to lose two identical wickets of same bowler caught by same fielder in the same place.
https://crex.live/player-profile/1CU/philip-salt/matches More detailed form for Phil Salt. He's only had two 50s in his last 19 innings. Not good enough for an opener.
I couldn't sleep, so I was up at 1:30. I only missed the first half hour, but also the two wickets. 150 now, so not too bad. If I'm lucky, I'll fall back to sleep before the 4:30 kickoff.
