Matchday Megathread, Rotherham United v Barnsley

Two very average teams. We look a lot more solid at the back with Roberts in. Neither team is looking decent.

 

Great in possession but when it comes down to it Rotherham have looked most likely to score. Too familiar.

 

We have some pace on the bench and someone to ping the ball to them.

 

Roberts has had a great first half, totally justified return to side.

 

It was a clear pen and red card. Jay.

 

I quite like Rotherham’s ground, apart from their fans don’t sing for some reason.

two dreadful sides bereft of quality.

I’ve got a tremendous view and what is apparent is how static we are. The movement in midfield is nonexistent and I do wonder what we work on in terms of attacking shape ? nothing by the looks of things. Humphrys is pretty pointless.

We have control of the game but no quality to make it hurt (or runs) and so Rotherham can kick back and hit us on the counter. It’s more like a home match.

We always have a mistake in as at the back and so I would expect that to determine the match. We have no options off the bench due to our piss poor transfer dealings.

 

Imho...I thought we were slightly the better side and played the most football, albeit in bits.
Not having a striker....well ill shut up, we've done it to death!
Not many shots for either side and the lack of overall quality is missing for both.
Penalty?....probably but obviously not given...dunno how Hugil misses at the back end. Same old though for us some nice bits and pieces...O Keef still can't beat the first man on his crosses.
As we know thats our good half, so hopefully we can hold out second period. I'd give it 10 mins then bring on Nwakali and maybe Lewis.
Thought Connell did reasonably well but Roberts our best player.

Tbh we should be one up at least and playing 10 men but the ref bottled it.

 

Speaks volumes for our recruitment though, we all know our shortcomings and what we needed to try to rectify them, so we went out and got players who apparently aren’t good enough to start!

I agree with this but there’s nothing incisive about the football so it’s easy to defend. There’s no movement

Well that was diabolical Roberts so slow to bring the ball out just strolling along then it’s sideways and backwards.Can’t watch the 2nd half wife wants to watch rugby thank god.

Another observation imho is how weak we are in the tackle for the first and second ball....we seem to get bullied by most teams
