Not surprised by Roberts at all. He was really good for us for 3 months & looked our best defender by some distance. Knowing the type of pro he is he probably came back too quickly & wasn’t at his best in the couple of games before the sending off but he will have had the last few weeks building his fitness up & has been able to train with the lads.
Good grief. It was even worse than it looked at the game. Terrible decision. What could the Ref/lino think he use to knock the ball down - his nose!
I enjoyed today. I know it was a 'dead rubber' but the weather was decent; great views in what is a very wierd ground (a tardis in reverse) good stewarding, and there a real livliness pre match around the ground. I was really pleased we didn't have to use the skills of The Samaritins ( who were doing pre match collections). Also got the chance to look around Millmoor before the game. That brought back some memories. Sad to see the Tivoli nightclub knocked down. That brought back some mammaries! The game wasn't brilliant (two poor teams) but I was pleased to see a number of players really put the effort in - on and off the ball- Roberts, DKD and Mael and Corey (and I'm not the latter two's biggest fan!). It's a 200 mile round trip for me and I wasn't looking forward to it, but worthwhile. Glad I went.
It was really good around the ground. Plenty of volunteers from Bluebell and the Smarritans. The big velcro dart board they had out as a game. The music blaring out. Behind the away end the food truck was decent enough. Not sure their "jumbo" hot dogs were jumbo for six quid though. I liked the set up to keep fans apart when leaving the ground and it was fun with the chants that Rotherham fans took well.
I agree. After a dodgy first two or three games he was looking like a strong contender for Player Of The Season until his injury. He looked that today too.
