No, I don’t think so. My son’s mate’s mum works in the box office and I heard about returns from him.

They do not advertise spares. Never have, to the best of my knowledge. People can and do put their names on a reserve list. I've known quite a few of our members get tickets via that avenue when sold out.
As for how did she have tickets to give away, I assume some players didn't need their allocation. I seem to think players get tickets given to them for friends and family. As happens at most if not all clubs. Hence calling back once sorted.
Some of those off our bus chose not to sit in their seats and went to the back to stand up. Have to say from what I could tell. The standing section was well managed. No-one deliberately obstructing anyone's view wishing to sit.
Also some seats may not be available for safety reasons as at Barnsley for away followings.
No conspiracies as some would like to portray.

 

I don’t think anyone’s floating conspiracy theories. Just disappointment at not getting a ticket and seeing loads of empty seats.

 

This gives an idea of how many were available.

 

I asked a few weeks ago if there was any likelihood of them giving us another block, but the consensus was that Rotherham were on a decent run of results, so demand amongst their own support could be high.

Looks like a lot of our own lot didn’t bother. Probably my own fault for not putting my name down for a returned ticket.

There were many more people in the Safe Standing area (you can see them in the isles at the top) than there were designated spots. I would suggest that will account for many of the ‘empty’ seats.

I obviously don't know any of them personally but my gut feeling is the current board are all decent people. Not a clue how to run a football club but to be fair it's a business that doesn't follow any normal rules.
