https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co....-rovers-manager-latest-new-favourite-emerges/ Favourite for the Blackburn job. Reports over the weekend said they were struggling for an appointment as they want to offer 600k a year max, which wasn't enough to tempt Steve Cooper or Gary O Neil. It would be a chance for him to work with three of his former players.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/s...er-hunt-gary-oneil-steve-cooper-name-dropped/ Alan Nixon said it. I guess eleven and a half grand a week before tax isn't enough to manage outside the top flight..... They will still be getting paid by their previous employers, so I would guess they are currently looking at around a million a year.
TBF, they'd be on £600k+ for one year, then nothing for the next year or so. Its a very unstable job.
Without checking, I'm sure Cooper has only been out of "work" for 6 months out of the last 6 or 7 years. Edit - and he was paid off from Forest hence technically still getting paid for those 6 months
Not sure Ismael to Blackburn is a great fit. They've managed to stay in the play off positions playing 4-2-3-1, and playing out from the back. Not sure bringing someone in that will want to switch to a back 3, and hoofball, at this stage of the season, is very wise.
exactly why Duff going to Swansea was always going to fail a team that played possession based football who then took on a manager that was happy to let the other team have the ball for the majority of games was always doomed from the start:
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but no-one mentioned £500k. Cooper and O'Neil turned down 600k, so they're looking at close to 1 Mill per year. Sounds a lot to me just to tell a load of players what to do. Maybe I'm just getting old, or fed up with football...I don't know....
You'll be grumpier when you realise Humphries and Cosgrove are probably being paid that by us a season - at least.
I hate the way football is going in the greed stakes. But in comparison to some players wages. Not out of the scheme of things. Bannan £1m per yr in league one. May have had an increase since promotion. Edit. Apparantly £1.25m+ this season. Average manager salary apparanty in the championship 2020. £800k.
Now you're being stupid....No way are we paying them that. If they're on more than £4-5k a week I'll be surprised. So that's 200k per year. Even both of the don't come close to half a Mill
I bet they're on double what you expect. Free transfers, signed last minute in a panic, strikers plus bonuses...
I suspect Humphreys is on a really decent amount. Especially given we signed him on a single year contract plus option, which if we've any sense, we'll not take up.
money money money!! https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...tral-flaw-of-footballs-greatest-show-on-earth

Let's see if he can get a tune out of Woodrow who's done very little since Val was last his boss.
