I take it the 2 week experiment of playing with wingers has failed then. Unlucky to the formerly unemployed lad from America. Least he's not on the breadline now though
Old DC does like to stick with the tried and tested, whether they are performing, or not. It's not a good look when the January reinforcements don't even make the bench. If he's trying to send a message, then I don't agree with him.
I think you're contradicting yourself. He can't both persist with those that aren't good enough/playing poorly and freeze out new lads that haven't played well yet. It shows that he's got a poor squad not that he persists too long. I think he's got about 12/13 players you'd say are good enough and 11 are playing.
But he is persisting with under performers and freezing out the new recruits. That's not a contradiction.
read between the lines he either doesn’t think they are ready or good enough, we all knew that it was a really poor recruitment window so it’s no real surprise that they aren’t being involved as I don’t think they are the players he expected to get he said himself in the interview last week that it was a poor window. (Or words to that effect)
pretty sure that an under pressure manager will select the players that he thinks are most likely to get the result wanted in the circumstances presenting.
