And generally you'd think 2 straight wins is something to build on, however, I still have very little confidence in a number of our players to do the ******* basics. Tonight we've made such hard work of beating a woeful Northampton Town side. We still look awful at the back and any half decent side that decides to have a go at us and we're likely to **** ourselves! Onto Lincoln then, let's hope we don't get a a repeat of last season's 1-5 humiliation.
Yep not been great to watch, but tbh I would have took 2 ugly wins to get us back in play off race. We are unbelievably back in with a chance, let’s hope players realise this and gain confidence and momentum. I am not saying we will get there but we do have a chance.
Like the optimism but trust me we won’t be in the playoffs this season our January transfer window saw to that .
Ugly wins against some proper gash opponents. Still don't look anywhere near good enough to recover for the top 6. Any half decent side will beat us still.
Said this to my mate last night, It would be lovely if we bossed a game for its entirety, didn’t make dumb mistakes and saw games out in relative comfort rather than hanging on, but this is us and has been all season. It’s also quite typical of the level I think,
And yet, up to the poor backpass by O'Keefe, we looked reasonably comfortable. I'd even go as far as saying the more likely to score the next goal. It's frustrating that our undoing is often of our own making, but particularly at the start of the second half last night, I saw a lot to be encouraged by. I think Corey has grown a lot as a player over the last few months; that last night is the sort of thing he'd do on a regular basis last season, often letting complacency get into his game. Though he's not been as guilty of that in the last few months and I'm hoping that last night was an isolated incident that he learns from.
I think this post sums up how bad this seasons been. In an ideal world O'Keefe would be nowhere near the first team never mind have so many assists. He's been consistent. However, he's been consistently "less crap" than his team mates.
