Just seen a post that we spend the 4th most wages in the league.

Above likes of Charlton Blackpool and Wrexham...

 

I’m not sure how true it is but Rob Staton berated me on the radio for saying we have a top 6 /8 budget and should therefore be in the top 6 /8

 

Can’t be true if we are paying more than most when we’ve systematically downgraded the playing squad at every opportunity

 

Apparently both Benson and Cosgrove are close to 10k pw on wages. So wouldn't really suprise me, can see pines been on a decent amount as well tbh. Next year we might be able to sign some decent players when they are all off the books.

 

Often mentioned on here by me and others, we're paying less individually but to more players so this would be no surprise. 30+ players on the payroll. Not sure if coaching staff are part of this but we seem to have lots of them as well. Not a popular view of mine is what did we sign Houriane for, cos he's now also at the trough. Time for a serious cutback as discussed in previous posts.

 

It was 6th or 7th highest last season from what I can remember. I don’t see how it could be higher than that this year, considering you’ve Wrexham, Birmingham and Huddersfield now in the division.

Depends if it's playing staff or club employees. Our employee wage bill must be massive compared to the beginning of last season with extra coaches, a new sporting director, new head of football activities, new chief of staff, new assistant to the head of football activities etc.

 

And jobs for the fam

 

Nobody has released their most recent accounts so stuff like this is sheer guesswork. But, it gets shared across platforms like this, so clearly worth someone’s effort.

Yeah I’ve seen it doing the rounds - stats from “salary sport” - it’s absolute rubbish imo.

There’s no way we pay the fourth highest wages; consider the big hitters that left last summer - it’s absolutely guesswork in the main.

I don’t buy it. I’d estimate we are top ten or twelve but not top six in terms of wages and budget.

 

Replacing Portsmouth Derby and Oxford though who must have been in top 6 / 8 last season at a guess?

 

Benson is a waste of time. He comes on and spends time adjusting his hair, messing with his shorts and pulling his socks up.
