Lincoln City

That’s just reminded me of something I read about Bernie Taupin, who was from Sleaford. The song ‘ Saturday nights alright for fighting’ was written with the town in mind.

 

Absolutely right. I went to school in Sleaford. To this day its educational facilities are outstanding, while the town remains as depressing and dire as ever.

 

It's only the last few years they've averaged above 5k for home games, most years it's 3-4k so 1200 is about par for them.

About as threatening as an away game in Fulham.

 

I think they were down to about 2k when they were struggling in the National League - not nice to see.

 

Some numpties. Like most clubs but more than their fare share in the past. (Not sure about now) Ran rampage through Alfreton in a friendly. Week afore we played there. One year.

 

About 40 imp yooof doylems came bouncing through ponty car park about half 2 ish, all clumped together like a sardine ball for safety while giving it the big 'un, would have soiled their teenage nappies if some big old tarn lump had confronted them........sithi.

 

There is a large number of wannabes on the rise from Lincoln wanting to make a name for themselves.

 

Very very few people outside Lincoln support Lincoln though.
The county gets split up by Scunthorpe, Grimsby & Boston. They also seem to have quite a few around Lincoln’s that support others, growing up it was Forest & Liverpool

 

Calamitous in defence could be used to describe us

I went to school in Sleaford and if we discount the glory "supporters" who never went to watch their team, it was pretty much an equal split between Lincoln and Forest. After that it was probably Norwich and Grimsby.

 

I’ll not bother paying attention to that then looks pretty pointless

 

Apparently he's taken a lot of whacks over the years.

 

About right for a lot of footballers is that age when they start dwindling. Only usually the very elite stay at the top level, or those who can severely alter their game

 

I think they have a good rivalry with Grimsby, but that's about it!.

 

Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Mansfield, Peterborough are all pretty big rivalries.

 

Or those who were never very fast to begin with.
