What a season he’s having for Hibs. Several goals & assists, Scottish premier league player of the month in December, fans are raving about him on social media, some are saying he even deserves a Scotland call up.

He’s been a massive miss this season for us. Top quality player at our level & levels above any other wing back we have.

He was better going forward than defensively, so I found it hard to see him playing at a level above L1.

I think he's better than Gent though.

I guess out of the dead wood we let go last season he’d probably be the one we missed most but will he do it for a second season? He was great in his first with us then last year look carp

All that deadwood would walk into this team.

Quite possibly but that is another reflection of our crap recruitment, Williams, Cadden, Kane, Cole and that centre half that never played were all dogger and not good enough to carry us to promotion let alone cut it higher up.
This current lot are pathetic but that’s the board driving everything connected with the club down.

please don’t use Williams and Cole being championship players, cos they are technically but they aren’t in terms of quality or minutes played, yes Williams had a run of games but they probably saw he couldn’t defend so oiked him out.

After a great first season I thought Cadden was poor last year. Not sure if it was down to Collins style of play though. He seemed to make some good runs but often fail to get the ball.

Just because they've not gone somewhere else and done particularly well doesn't alter the fact that they were good for us. All those lads contributed to two play off campaigns and in Williams case a Championship play off campaign too.

I don't get the need to slag off players and have this binary '****' or 'brilliant' rating. They were good. And I'd have the lot back in a heart beat.

We didn't get the most out of him last season, for some reason our play nearly always went down our right side. Every game there were loads of times he was in tons of space on our left side with his hand up wanting a pass and the ball wasn't played to him.

I'd have Williams back only in his natural position. (We need solid centre halves I admit) Which surprised me Pompey didn't utilise him at full back. Is never imo going to cut it as a centre half in the Championship.
    Cole yes.
    Kane a no for me.

How many chances created though? There was always at least a couple of brilliant crossed what nobody got on the end of. Chance creation or cross amount would be better indicators. I do think he weren't as good last season, but thats due to our style under Collins and a lot of the team regressing. We didn't exactly play to his strengths either.

Thought Cadden steadily improved throughout his first season and by the end of it he was one of my favourite players.

Then last season... meh. He wasn't doing anything radically different, I remember looking at stats that showed him to have crossed the ball more than any other player in the league. Literally hundreds of crosses. But invariably they were hitting first man. Like 90% of them. When he left I wasn't that fussed.

But second season Cadden, as disappointing as he was, was still better than what we've had this season. First season Cadden was miles better.

In fairness, he wanted to go ‘home’ as it were. And I’m sure his brother plays there also.

Quality at this level. Don’t think he was any better than the current lot defensively but going forward he was a real asset and one of the most experienced lads, a good pro in the changing room as they say.

Glad he’s doing well up there.

Good player for us all the players we lost in the summer were good league one players and that's the division we're in. I do think Gent will come good just need game time he's only young and will only get better.

I can’t go along with this poor last season. He had a dodgy first month after Anderson & Thomas left & there was all the Kitching drama. After that I thought he played really well until the last few games when all the team fell to pieces.

Cadden made 204 crosses in his first season. He made 300 last season.

It does make sense to be glad to see the back of a striker who scored 34 goals in two seasons for us but then say one of the players replacing him 'looks a player' even with his 4 goals.

I think that about sums up the IQ levels here.

Eh? You were glad to get rid of several quality players who had been mainstays in a side that finished in the top 6 two seasons running but you weren’t glad to get rid of Cundy who barely kicked a ball for us? Can anyone else make sense of that?

I think last season Cadden was clearly told to try & put his crosses in hard & low to suit the kind of forwards Cole & McAtee were. Without Norwood & Tedic there wasn’t much point putting everything in at head height when it wouldn’t suit Cole & McAtee
