I got back home from Charlton at half time to be able to watch the second half. Me and my two sons actually got ejected from the ground because my son had a camera. The supervising steward said that my son wasn't allowed to film, and that the camera could be used as a weapon!! We tried to argue that he's hardly likely to hit somebody with an expensive camera which is no bigger than a mobile phone (and loads of people film the game on their phone). At that point we were ejected from the ground. Even appealing to the head steward failed. We didn't swear or even raise our voices. Even their stewards and the police couldn't believe it. I may mention this in a separate thread.
The biggest concern is I don't think they knew what they were being asked to do. It all just seemed so, well, *****. Couldn't pass it short. Couldn't hit it long. No pace. Nobody taking a man on. As bad as I've seen us in a long time.
And one half of our only two threats was off at half time. Easiest 45 minutes Charlton will get all season.
All joking aside. Count it as a blessing. In all seriousness I’m sure Charlton have form for very over zealous stewarding.
Normally I'd be ranting, raving and not worthy to talk to after a 2nd half like that. I've hit for the first time... Meh. I still ensure I watch the games. But I'm genuinely thinking of something else to do on Saturday afternoon this week. I'm hitting a point of no return right now, and this isn't good.
I'd take this further if I were you mate. There are lots of spurious claims of discrimination on this BBS. This isn't one. You have a genuine grievance.
We were as good as them tonight - keeper error lost us a point. Roberts was immense. DKD great first half, nowhere second half. Humphrys did far more than Watters. Limp Biscuit showed glimpses of there being a footballer hidden deep within.
Yep, it's the toss of a coin what you are going to get from our players in every game. Tonight was so frustrating considering what a big game it was and how average Charlton were. I suppose we are still hanging in there and I've always been optimistic about the playoffs but I just don't think that these players or coaches have got the strength of character to do it.
