Would another manager have got more out the team than Clark? Obviously there's been some issues but we've seen a lot of players relapse. Connel is a shadow of what he once was. Philips has dropped off. Generally it's been so disjointed. Was Collins better?
Think Connell has improved recently, he had a good game today. But there's no doubting how poor we've been performance-wise especially. Little point in sacking him now, but I certainly think we should be looking at other potential candidates.
Yeah Red, that's what I'd say as well. We will never get to where we want to be as a club, under these appalling owners!. For example, they might appoint Bob Smith next. Who I hear is good mates with the neighbour of a bloke who used to watch ManUre in the pub!!
I do agree mate. Potential managers I reckon will look at the squad, contracts left on players and our slow incremental decline season upon season and I'm not sure there will be a bunch of cash to improve it either.
I think prime Sir Alex would struggle with our squad. Having to chuck in academy lads. Being on to our 5th keeper of the season. Having to play a CB who started the season about 6th choice. Bringing it a striker who cannot speak the English and now has gone missing. Having to rush in a freebie that hadn't played for three months, so ended up getting injured quickly.
Yep, hit the nail full square for me mate. The kind of Manager who would get more out of this squad is the kind that expects to run the football side of the club. Sadly as ya sed there'll be little interest from that type until there's change at the top. That could still involve our current owners but they need to get a grip..
Not sure that's true mate. Majority of jobs arent like they used to be, most are head coach roles. We would certainly find loads that are willing, its just the issues of slowly deteriorating and lack of money
The answer is yes! Some managers could have got more but the real question is could a manager that we could have hired gotten more out of this squad and then the answer is probably no not really
To be fair, we were by far the better team before the goal. After they scored we seemed to drop a level and the game went a bit stale. I tried to avoid saying, dragged us down to their level, but based on the game before the goal, it's probably not too far from the truth.
Until the players cut out schoolboy errors. Any manager would struggle. I find Clarkes after match explanations not so much an excuse, but fact. The players let him, the club, and the fans down time and again. Whether it be poor coaching or more than likely incompetence. I'm not of the opinion anyone else could vastly improve us.
True they are more coaches now but we need to get hold of spending, squad size etc and maybe a better Manager could influence that...
