The season still isn't over for us yet, when it comes to the Play offs. And to be honest, Charlton aren't the team that we need to keep up with now.
Hudds are currently in 6th, and they are 6+ points ahead of us, with 11 games left!.
The thing is though, if we 'twist' and try to plan ahead already for next season, what options do we have ?.
I'm guessing that Clarke will be sacked, so do we do it now/soon, and hope to give the replacement a full pre-season.

We should try to win every game. Clarke should be given, at least to the end of the season.

Yeah I'm a fan of Clarke, and I've tried to stick up for him as much as possible.
And I hope this lot will stick with him for next season. But for the right football reasons though, rather than just financial.

    Past caring tbh

Whoever comes in next has the same ***** served to them and expected to perform miracles

We have half of a decent side. The other half is absolutely nowhere near. The crap half are dragging the better half down, rather than the crap half improving. In fact the crap half are getting crapper

No, Colin is a total and utter 'Colin'.
This lot will never ever hire a proper manager for a start, especially somebody like Colin who knows his stuff and runs his mouth a lot!.

Hey fair enough kid, you've made it clear you want him out.
So that will cost us again won't it, and it will be even more if we were to get rid of the recruitment team as well.
So will you offer the cash needed to do this!.

Start building for next season, game time for some of the young lads, finishing 7th or bottom half is neither her nor there.
Think we could be looking at 7/8 players to make us competitive, GK, 2 CBs, 2 proper wingbacks, striker.
Can't decide if Clarke is the man, he's made some poor decisions but re recruitment is a joke, been saying it for weeks though Mladen will throw Clarke under the bus when the early bird uptake is down.

The recruitment has been terrible, scatter gun approach.
Clarke I think is a poor head coach, not a fan of his blaming the players all too often publicity. Tactics and subs baffling.
That's not how it works fella, I don't own the club. I'm a supporter, I'll buy another season ticket if that helps.

Only 19 points ahead of Burton who have 11 games left. Not safe yet...

I don't think Clarke is all that great but I think we sack managers far too prematurely.

I have no faith at all in our sporting director. Recruitment hasn't just been poor in terms of the quality of players, but also identifying the type of player we need. None of our wing backs are comfortable in a back four, so we can't adapt our formation. Of all the midfielders there's only Connell that can put in a tackle. We keep signing forwards who need a striker to play off or to cross the ball to, but don't sign that striker. And even worse, I can't trust what he says, because when I read about the players he's signed and see them for myself, they don't fit the description he's given. I feel like I've had the wool pulled over my eyes.

In January, if you're signing players on short term contracts until the end of the season, you need them fit and available or there's just no point. We signed a lad from the USA who are in their closed season, so after 20 minutes at full pace he's injured for a month. And a French lad who's been on the bench most of the season, doesn't speak the language and is currently suffering culture shock. Meanwhile, we sent out three strikers on loan. I don't think Dallas, Marsh and Cosgrove are all that, but they're better than nothing. We have replaced them with nothing.

The last thing I want is for us to sack the head coach and the current sporting director be given the task of replacing him.

Replace the sporting director and if the new appointment feels Clarke isn't up to it, then so be it, but just dismissing Clarke fails to identify the real problem.

That's my biggest problem. He is a liar. Tries to convince everyone that X new signing is this position when alllll the evidence in the world says it's a blatant lie.

Brilliant post, sums up where I'm at, you can add the goalkeeping fiasco to the list too, Clarke wanted 3 transfer windows which is probably fair, but my goodness the work needed to give him any chance of success and or options is astounding.
To think Mladen came out with "been aware of for sometime" regarding Rodrigues and "will offer us something different" regards Lembikisa.

Its over dont worry about that. 6 pts off 6th and far worse goal diff 11 to play. Shocking season in pub league

Owners and clarke should hang there heads in utter shame. The defence is **** and the strikers dont score (dkd isnt a striker)

I was very much get shut of DC up until the transfer window and then when I saw the ***** they served up with the incomings I am now of the opinion this guy is just an easy placeholder for them - 7th choice when he got the job and they’re taking the absolute piss out of him with recruitment - no ambition to try and lock up a play off spot imo

It's our league position after the last game of season that counts, not next week.

Although I was being sarcy, I actually do agree with you there Rum on few points.
In what is a poor Division with only a handful of quality teams each season, its hard to accept that we are now seemingly heading towards 'mediocre'.
The players should take responsibility as well as Clarke of course. But as we keep saying, it goes above them to the owners, for who the real culprits are!.
