I’m generally a happy clapper and not reactionary but he’s been out managed big time today. All his weaknesses have been exposed by someone who I’m sure many of us thought his time was up many jobs ago.
Got to be his last game today, and the 3 stooges on the touchline with him too. They make Neill Collins look like prime Pep Guardiola.
Playoffs are gone now, the board should let him go and have a right good look at themselves as well. Macca as caretaker for the rest of the season? Not that I think he'd do much better with this squad.
If we got shut of Clarke we should get rid of his whole coaching staff who are part of the problem. None of this 'continuation' rubbish. A new guy should be allowed the chance to have a fresh new coaching team.
Collins was sacked for much less, this guy has made Collins look like Pep’…. The wrong appointment from the offy, he’s had too many chances & it’s now time to part ways.
The players and coaching staff seemed to be getting a free pass at the moment due to the fans turning on the people higher up
We all know he's not the biggest issue at the club. The major issues sit above him. But he is without doubt one of the issues at the club and is massively underperforming. Sadly for Clarke, who seems a nice enough bloke, he's not good enough and he's the easiest of the issues to sort out. And it's got to be time to go now.
I feel like it may happen this week. Conor in charge until the end of the season I reckon. Play youngens and players who will be here next season.
They're not, mathematically speaking, which poses a problem because I agree with whoever posted a few months ago saying there's probably a clause in his contract saying when it's impossible then we can get rid at a cost cut price. Board mentioned sacking Collins when we did cost us a lot, not sure we will do it again. Though it does need to happen.
I'm just surprised he's been given the time he has, shocking tactically, his man management is a joke, he was a terrible appointment, I just hope they pull the trigger tonight and go cap in hand to big Mick.
The basic requirement would be fit players with a plan and commitment. You can then argue that the team just isn’t good enough or we got beat by better teams on the day. In this case it’s clear we aren’t fit - witness the number of late goals we concede, there’s no plan as far as I can tell, and they aren’t trying. That’s all on Clarke and the coaching staff. Clear them all out.
