Exactly. If the owners have any sense they will sack him this week even if it's just an attempt to get the fans of THEIR back

Could they both not get the same taxi out of town?

    He has no football knowledge
The only good signings we’ve made under him can be counted on one hand

May as well replace him and get someone in place to hit the ground running in the summer. the damage is done. As I said in another post, Clarke has ‘got what he’s got’ to work with. Windows firmly shut, it hasn’t improved us.

I keep seeing people blaming recruitment but never any reasonable views on who we should have signed in January. I can name one decent striker who we might have reasonably been able to sign - James Collins. If the league was flush with cheap goalscorers then perhaps I'd understand the criticism but you can't sign what isn't there.

Personally I'd have kept Dallas and Lofthouse over Rodrigues and Lembikisa, but I don't buy that the recruitment has been catastrophic. This is down to poor coaching and tactics, and appointing Clarke is his biggest failure.

Collins was a big one, but would have preferred Orsi from Burton who finished high up on league 2 top scorers last year or Jordan Rhodes for experience but its not our job to find decent players is it. Hes paid alot of money to recruit the players we need and he's signed a french lad who doesn't know a word of English and was hardly playing for his french team in division 2. Was never going to work out

I agree with your point on Clarke & the coaching mate, but I think you're being very kind to the recruitment side of things. Clarke was badly let down in January, and losing Lofthouse for Lembisaki (sorry spelling) and loaning out strikers when we're desperate etc, it's shockingly poor.

Jordan Rhodes scored his first goal of the season today. Orsi was loaned from a team in the relegation zone to the league below - hardly a great indicator he's up to it.

"It's not our job to find players" - no, but if you don't know what's out there how do you know if he's doing a good job or not?

Cosgrove is yet to break his duck for Stockport, and while I would have kept Dallas over Rodrigues he's not scored since his brace on debut. It'd have been good to give him a run just to know if he could hack it, but perhaps they already know he can't? I'm not saying the window was good, but given the paucity of options I'm not sure anyone else does much better.

In fairness it’s not up to the fans.

To put it bluntly I watch enough ***** football at oakwell. If I’m not watching Barnsley I tend to watch premier league or champions league football.

It’s the staff at the club who should know who’s attainable at league 1, 2 & conference level that would suit us.

It's not up to the fans to know, but if people are ignorant of the facts then perhaps they shouldn't be calling for someone to be sacked or passing judgement on transfer windows.

If you bring in 12 players & only 2 look anything close to a success then your role should be in jeopardy in my eyes.

Niall Ennis. striker. Blackpool brought him in and he's already equalled Humphreys total for the season.

Bodvarsson. Joined Burton and is just one goal behind max Watters for the season already.

Tavares. Only clocked up 44 minutes for Burton so far since signing in January but already equalled Cosgroves tally for the season.

James Collins. Everyone knew about him. Signs for London and bangs in 4 goals so far. That's 4 more than our new signings combined

Andresson signs for Stockport and scores 3 in 4 substitute appearances. Have our signing shame shots yet?

Or we could bring in a right winger from France who has only scored a handful of goals in his career and an unemployed bloke from America.

It is not the fan's job to identify players to sign, that's down to well paid, I bet, staff employed in that role. Someone mentioned Rhodes as a signing. I wanted him too as I did Ashley Fletcher, I thought Fletcher might be like Hammill and do well after a barren spell. Rhodes could have been the same, the academy lad returns? We will never know as we got two wingers instead.
