They still talk about them because what they did to this club set us back years. Thankfully, despite the stick & in some cases, abuse, they're still pumping millions in for us to rectify previous board's mistakes. It's been a shocker this season, lots of things going wrong, but I doubt anyone who owns the club are laughing their socks off as though they're not the ones losing millions. They need drastic improvements and fingers crossed that will be next season, somehow.
But the current owners have not shown any sign that they know how to run a professional English football club successfully its gone backwards massively despite the money they keep having to put in.
Nor do I, but some on here are wick with ideas as to who the new owners should be. They must be, otherwise it’s just whining at the moon for the sake of it.
Duff left this shower after a year. Then they sacked Collins after a year, in a play off place. They havent had a single manager for over a season. Now theyve got this Nottinghamshire clown.
Serious question you've been on the inside so have knowledge the average fan doesn't, why don't you want new owners. What are they doing to convince you that Barnsley FC is not only safe in their hands but will eventually prosper.
Do you think that football club owners go on courses in order to learn how to run a football club? No. They employ people who (supposedly) know how to do this. Our problem as fans is that they seem to be employing the wrong people to deal with how things turn out on the pitch. With regard to all the rest of such as goes into running a football club is concerned, I have no idea whether a good job is being done or not. And i don't particularly care now that I can comfortably get a pint at half time.
Hey Frog, we and a few others, have tried our best to stick up for Clarke haven't we. But what do you reckon now, I'm afraid its got now where I'm hardly bothered anymore, if they do sack him. I still don't want it to happen, but he's really running out of excuses now I reckon.
The issue is in business if you keep employing the wrong people your business goes under. I'd love for them to get it right for the sake of the club and the town sadly I have absolutely zero confidence that they will because they just don't seem capable of learning from the mistakes they make so keeping making the same mistakes over and over again.
I like the bloke, but questions are seriously needing to be asked mate. We have a depleted squad and wasn't aided by a good transfer window but he should still be getting more out of this group of players. Little things like today, Connell had a shocker first half, especially that last 15/20 minutes. But he stays on another 15 minutes - and if you actually watch Connell that second half, he actually played well for those 15 minutes and then he's subbed. Why not sub him at half time when he was a having stinker? Since he improved, why take him off now? Like I said, if you were always intending to sub him, why wait? He often makes subs on the 60th minute mark, sometimes needed, sometimes not. A lot of times his subs have been terrible - taking off players doing well, or just changing the shape when not needed. Just feels very robotic mate. I wouldn't be against getting rid.
Just having a little out of the box think about this season and the transfers dealings of the last year. We've come off the back of 2 successful seasons in as much as we've got into the playoffs, where we'd pretty much expect to be. We've had a massive turnover in players and a new manager which is always going to have an impact on the following season. Before a ball was kicked i thought we'd finish somewhere between 7th and 13th with the playoffs being a really good season if we made it considering all the wholesale changes. Is it a possibility that the owners have looked at the level of spending for this year with Wrexhams backing, Birmingham breaking the league one transfer record 3 times in one transfer window and spending 15m on a striker and just thought maaaaaaybe let's not go mental this year. We aren't going to compete with that, So get in a few low cost players who will secure a solid mid table finish and build on that the season after.

I'm not on the board so I have no idea who has tried to buy us or if they have done the right thing and advertised us for sale.
What alternative revenue streams do you think are available for a league 1 football club exactly? I'd ******* love some hypothetical alternative owners who run us at a profit, make mint signings and propel us up the leagues. But until those people are anything more than a pipe dream I'll settle for our current owners trying their best, making a few **** ups but digging into their own pockets to keep us afloat. Who do you think is queuing up to buy Barnsley FC? If our current owners decide to chalk **** on it at any point we're in real trouble.
