I don't necessarily disagree. I just think it'd be a shame to bring him over for 18 months and write him off after lots of injuries and not a particularly settled time for us. Roberts will be close to done next year, Lapota still only 24 next season - wouldn't bet against him being loaned out again with recall options instead. Or we'll bin them all and start from scratch. Again.
Had we not signed Roberts, I think Pines would have had a better go of things. Regularly starting and all that. Get the feeling he'll be glad to go home though.
I may be in a minority but I think Pines has the potential to be a good player. Having said that I don’t think it’ll be with us. We’ve got loads of centre backs on the books & I think we’ll prioritise our younger, cheaper players.
