I definitely get the concern, but in most places this swing to the right amongst the young still puts them much more left as a cohort than the one that's dying off.

I'm still probably just about of the opinion that this push towards fascism is something like the last throw of the dice from a doomed and dying oligarchy. Could easily be wrong though - the next ten years will be key. Depressing thing is that I don't really feel like there's anything I personally can do about it!

Reminder that Trump is the one that signed the current trade agreement with Canada. Not that it will matter to his cultists.

The king (who is also the king of Canada, remember) should immediately rescind his invitation until Trump stops his threats of invading a commonwealth country.

@KingBenny92 you've gone very quiet in this thread.

You voted for this, own it. Be proud of the fact that you supported a deranged fascist who is threatening allies and making the world unsafe for everyone. You knew it would be the case when you voted for him and you did it anyway.

I don't think I've made one comment in this thread pal, I like to come to this board to read about Barnsley FC, don't like getting sucked into the politics.

And yes I am sure if I find my original comments about my vote, the main reasons I voted for Trump he has done the opposite with regards to censorship and ending wars. I thought the other side were the warmongers but seems like this side is the exact same and more chaotic if anything.

Not sure I will vote again in an election as both sides are absolutely awful and funded by the same awful people. cough cough Israel. AKA the uniparty

Also, chill out a bit mate on this board you just come off as wanting to pick fights all the time

You say you’re not going to vote again because both sides are funded by israel and yet you voted for a man who made it clear before the election he was going to help israel “finish the job” and you’re now partly responsible for the genocide he’s helping them with.

I’m sorry but you don’t get to say he did the opposite of why you voted for him, everything he’s done is exactly what he promised to do before the election and/or what everybody predicted he would do. It was obvious.

Errmm both sides said the same about Israel so that was a wash. They were doing the exact same thing with Biden and co. And he ran on the other side of censorship from the democrats and is now doing the same thing with “anti-Semitic” speech. Also please let me know where he mentioned anything at all regarding Canada or Greenland in the campaign trail.

And the genocide was in full effect under Biden and your idol Starmer and co but didn’t hear you condemn that?

I’ve said before I think all politicians were owned and all evil, the thing that Trump had going for him he wasn’t a politician and didn’t think like one but turns out he’s also been fully paid for now like the rest of them. I’m sure Kamala would have stopped the genocide though even though she kicked out pro Palestinian people at her campaign. So also seemed “obvious” that Israel would continue what they are doing. Also starmer is fully on the payroll too so by your logic you’ve also voted for a genocide you sanctimonious bellend

    Voter votes for a twät
Twät turns out to be a twät
Voter says well they are all the same

is that the situation? Nothing personal as we see it here too.

    Yep you aren’t wrong.

America first twät turns out to be Israel first twät. Voter voted for the America first twât instead of the spineless incompetent Israel first Kamala who seemed hell bent on war. Turns out it’s like deciding which man you want to shag your missus

He very clearly stated what his plans were for Canada with his tariffs prior to the election. He stated his plans to take over greenland back in 2020.

As much as i wish Kamala would have fully supported Palestine and as much as i wish the UK government would, what she would have done and done what the UK is doing (the UK under starmer have actually supported Palestine quite a bit and voted to sanction Israel at the UN and Netanyahu individually) is a far cry from Trumps pledge to give Israel “whatever they need to finish the job” and threats to build a hotel with his name there and turn it into a resort. (he specifically mentioned “turning Gaza into a parking lot” before the election too, by the way)

I agree and Charlie's letter should spell that out in words of one syllable so the thick-as-pig-**** scumbag understands why.

They won't though, they'll play him along and keep kicking the visit into the long grass. Trump will dangle on the promise but never seen it's fruition.

    "They're all the same"

Think I'm a "we didn't vote for this" from getting a full house.

I'm not talking about the tariffs, I am talking about him saying Canada becoming the 51st state- there isn't much support for that here on either side.

I don't envision anything would be different with Israel with either party, the US were supplying just as many weapons and financing as now. "As much as i wish Kamala would have fully supported Palestine and as much as i wish the UK government would" So in other words the same thing would be happening but at least there's a PR spin on it.

Outside of Covid, Trump's 2016-2020 run went better than 2020-2024 in my opinion and was a fairly peaceful time-frame. There was reason to believe that things would improve, let's see what happens anyway- for all Trump's wild statements there seems to be some slight progress last couple days with the Ukrainians agreeing to a ceasefire if the Russian's agree, hopefully we can see an end to that war sooner rather than later and those poor people can all stop dying.

    "They're all the same"

Think I'm a "we didn't vote for this" from getting a full house.

What, same as Starmer doing the opposite of everything on his manifesto and the constant lying? Is that what you voted for with Starmer?

If Trump comes through on his campaign promises to secure the border, improve legal immigration opportunities while clamping down on illegal border crossings, gets more manufacturing jobs and factories created in US then in those areas it would be a success.

But anyway I took the bait from BarnsleyReds and got riled up so suppose you got what you wanted. I've tried this before arguing with the BBS beehive and it usually just ends in a sh!tshow everytime of right versus left. In reality it's the elite versus the peasants like it's always been unfortunately, it's a shame that the premise of politics is essentially just who is the lesser of two evils. As long as you lot can recognise the hypocrisy and corruption on both sides then I am happy to take the punches

This is a thread about Trump, not Starmer. I don't know what he's got to do with anything.

And I'm pretty sure plenty of Labour voters have criticised a number of their policies over the past 8 months or so - but recognise that it's tough to repair 14 years of damage to Britain.

Your blind support of Trump is commendable though.

My "blind support" - haven't I literally just said I don't support a lot of what he's doing?

And exactly, there is no daily Starmer thread but people on this board like to condemn one side on something but not the other side such as going back on promises? Just keep that same energy for both sides of the same coin
