Out of interest, what are people roughly set to be paying this year for their water? We've not got a meter and from talking to others, our bill seems high. We do pay it over 8 months, but it stills seems high.

It's an increase of 24%, approved by Ofwat would you believe.

That'll explain the nigh on £100 increase then!

Good old privatised watter. Great investment in infrastructure by them all and they constantly put the customers first rather than the shareholders. Jolly good.

We're on a meter, pay by DD. They've just refunded us £180, and put the DD up by £5 a month!! Makes sense!?!?

It’s entirely linked to council tax and where you live if on rates. You’ll pay the exact same amount as everyone else in the same band in your local area, regardless of what you or them use. If you’re on a meter it is of course based on the amount you use. We’re on a meter and it’s just gone up to £24 a month (£288 a year), if we were still on rates it would be around £1100 a year for council tax band C in Leeds.

Increased from £532 to £706, so probably going to have a go with the water meter.

    Gone from 732 to 964. 31% increase.

Which makes no sense as my house is a three bed semi, on an old pit house estate in Scawthorpe, Donny - and is council tax band A.

There is no way the rateable value of my house is above average and yet my bill is higher than the average rated bill.

Gone up from £565 to £744. I will be watering the garden twice a day over the summer.
Jacob Rees-Mog told us it would go down if we voted Brexit,

Ed Milliband said he was going to save everyone £300 on their energy bills. So you can thank him when he knocks about 600 quid a year off your bills, to cover the increase.

Someone has to pay for the **** poor management of the assets. Inefficient use of the workforce. Pollution fines. Divis. and overinflated bosses salaries. Its not rocket science.

I'm with Affinity Water and even though I only have a 1 bedroom house in Surrey my water bill is only £180 a year though it's going up by 19% in April apparently

I'm on a meter, I pay £16 per month. I live alone which obviously makes a difference.
