Shame there has to be a loser. Does seem a bit bizarre that Liverpool won the league stage at a canter and ended up drawing PSG. The competition will be poorer whoever goes out. This could and should have been a semi or the final.
Quality wise it’s reminded me of Liverpool - Real earlier this season. Hope Liverpool win this but even if they don’t PSG are a lot more likeable than they used to be now Neymar & Mbappe have moved on.
I’d have bet my mortgage on Darwin Nunez missing his penalty. Lad makes Rasmus Hojlund look like Pele
Big difference in the penalties of both sides. Allison should have saved the first one. Nunez did a stupid stutter and missed. Jones wouldn't have been in my list of penalty takers.
Great tie overall and as mentioned above by others, it’s a shame it’s at this stage of the tournament. I think I’d quite like PSG to win the competition now. They have been a joy to watch in the games I’ve seen them this season.
Liverpool had plenty of chances tonight, but across both legs Paris deserved to progress. Hopefully Villa go deeper. They won this the year I was born.
PSG for the first time since I can remember actually look like a proper team. Talented squad, but not just individuals like before.
PSG deserved it over the full piece IMO. Quality penalties also from them. But come on, we all know Real will win it. Again.
100 million Euro for Darwin Nunez. Got to be up there in the top 5 worst signings in the history of football.
Living in Birmingham I'm not sure I'd be able to cope with both that and Blues walking L1. West Brom in the frame for Championship playoffs as well.
It's what they've needed since they got took over. Always been a team of superstars without actually being a 'team'. Same as Real madrid in early-mid 2000s. Theyve changed their philosophy in the past couple of years, bringing in young talent, not hoarding players, buying players that they actually need to function instead of headline signings like Messi (although to be fair, that one is probably understandable...). They look really, really good. Great to see Dembele back to his best as well, unreal talent!
Luis Enrique has built a brilliant team that runs its arse off and they all have a set a ******** too
He is bl00dy good. I've always liked flair players and at present he is a pleasure to watch. Besides the individual skill, he's a pretty good team player too.
