In his statement he says they want to get back to an attacking pressing style of play.... interesting.

The ones who appointed him are putting millions of there own cash in each year so we sort of let them off.

His job isn’t just to recruit head coaches. In my opinion he probably got that one right. What he’s got wrong is the player recruitment, not providing his HC with the tools to finish the job.
I’d also say it’s time for a clear out in the assistant coaches department. The HC should have some say in who he wants and we don’t seem to be interested.
One final thought, this idea of the playing identity should be dumped too, as it hasn’t been any use since Val left.

So should DC have got more than 12 months using the same logic?

I think the two jobs are very different so no, don't agree.

Yes. Along with the CEO. They’re also culpable. Then with a decent executive team looking after commercial and football operations, we can properly review the coaching structure and player resources - that is focussed on building assets and excellence at every level for the club.

The jobs are different, but the remit is the same. Success on the pitch and bums on seats. It's not as though Sormaz has catering, commercial and other non-football plates to spin.

But Clarke can only work with the materials Sormaz supplies.

Granted, he hasn't got through best out of those players, but he hasn't exactly been blessed with quality to work with.

I definitely get the argument, but I think that type of role takes longer to get right. I think it's pretty evident that Clarke wasn't getting any sort of performance from a squad that should be at the very least playing better & I assume lost the confidence of those in charge. That's why he's gone - Stormaz needs to get the right manager this time or I think he'll be at risk.

Didn't he say something very similar when he sacked Collins and put Devaney in charge for the playoffs

Shouldn't he have recruited players who can do that then?

About as popular as Mark Cartwright is at Huddersfield.

Just like them it's a case of sacking the wrong guy. We shouldn't be trusting him with another managerial appointment or transfer window.

Is he going to grow a pair and take an interview with Radio Sheffield this time, so he can't avoid the easy in house questions?

Not if that wasn't there plan with Clarke and Collins appointments. We haven't played the attacking press since Duff. We have some attacking players who I think could do it, we have others who I doubt.

Yes. He's a data analyst, he should never have got the job. Out of his depth.

Our recruitment under Sorma, following is appointment in February (I think):

    Permanent:

Conor Hourihane: played about 25 minutes before retiring. Thumbs Down.

Marc Roberts: not the player he was, but has added experience to the defence and is still serviceable at this level. Thumbs Up.

Jackson Smith: Young keeper. Thumbs Middle.

Connor Barrett and Callum West: Young lads released from bigger clubs. Low risk, low outlay. Thumbs Middle.

Georgie Gent: Left Wing Back, decent going forward but who struggles defensively. Unable to play full back so limits us to a wing backs system. Thumbs Middle.

Kelechi Nwakali: Talented midfielder who retains possession well without threatening to score or create goals. Poor defensively. Thumbs Middle.

Stephen Humphrys. Forward. Struggled in front of goal, and can work hard at times but at other times looks disinterested. Has struggled with illness to be fair. Thumbs Down.

DKD: The one real success story. Its no coincidence that he's from the same division as us and looks to have a hunger to progress. The type of signing we used to make. Thumbs Up.

Neil Farrugia: Irish wing back. Again looks defensively poor. Poor injury record. Currently injured. Thumbs Down.

Jonathan Lewis: America wide forward. Poor injury record. Poor start. Thumbs Down.

    Loans

Matthew Craig: Central midfielder. Struggled for game time as this is an area we seem to have well covered. Pointless signing which wasted both our time and money, as well as his. Thumbs Down.

Gabriel Slonina: Keeper on loan from Chelsea. Erratic, as Young keepers tend to be. Back to Chelsea following an injury. Thumbs Down.

Joe Gauci: keeper on loan from Villa. Replaced Killip. I can't say I've seen him drop any clangers, but then I can't remember him contributing an outstanding performance to win us points. Thumbs Middle.

Dexter Lembikisa: wing back on loan from Wolves. We have an abundance of players who can play that position. Probably on a decent wage. Thumbs Down

Clement Rodriguez. Probably a nice bloke. Good luck to him. Thumbs Down.

    --

By my back of the *** packet calculation, that's two thumbs Up, six thumbs in the middle, and the rest thumbs Down.

    Not great I don't think.

Yeah I see your point. I guess I include the sacking of Collins as one decision he got wrong, and now there's this.

I think it just boils down to me hating the turnover of managers at the club. I reckon we're near the top when it comes to the amount of gaffers this century.
