This stat is only relevant for sackings (failed appointments) any time we get a good manager they are snatched from us after one season - if we do eventually get promoted our manager won't be managing us in the Championship they will have already been poached by another club
Heckingbottom - Good. - went to bigger club Jose Morais - Horrendous Stendel - Good Struber - Good - went to bigger club Ismael - Good - went to bigger club Schopp - Bad Asbaghi - Bad Duff - Good went to bigger club Collins - OK Clarke - Bad
Sadly the morons hounded him out because of the constant moaning about style of play and the club acted because guess what...It was season ticket renewal time. Along with Jay, I was one of a few posters on here who never wanted him sacked.
I found his football horrendous to watch but I can see why he played that way more clearly now. timing of his sacking was, and always will be, diabolical and embarrassing
Their bags were packed in January . That wasn't Collins fault. My thoughts which I said on here. Be careful what you wish for. Gone backwards since Collins left.
Just had a nosy on Wiki, out of curiosity about what Poya, Morais and Schopp have been up to recently. Morais page seems to skip his spell with us in the main body. Had a few clubs since, but the latest update to his page indicates he converted to Islam last year and is currently a practising Shia Muslim. 20% with us Schopp seems to be the most settled - couple of jobs and currently a 44% win ratio at LASK. A case of a job suiting him and him suiting a job. Good luck to him. Forgot he only won one game for us. Fulham on opening day? 6.2% with us (shudder) Poya went to assist at Red Star Belgrade who had a bit of success, but since then seems to have spent three seasons with three different clubs in Qatar. 14.8% with us Heady days ......
My favourite Schopp memory was post-Bournemouth away as I sat with him waiting for Scott Parker to finish his press conference. Away side is meant to go first but despite me trying to explain to Markus that we need to go into the conference room, he kept wittering on at me about a lack of experience in midfield. By the time he shut up and I again pointed him towards the presser, Parker - who was giving me the eye with their head of comms - had got fed up of waiting and went in. So we sat there for another 30 minutes. And for another 30 minutes I had to listen to him banging on about a lack of experience. The last time I’d been at that stadium we’d turned over the home side and there was a f****** party going off in our changing room. Funny old game.
Yeah we should have sacked him earlier when we were 3rd and 4th in the league. Was a terrible decision when we actually did sack him, but it would have been even worse if we'd have done it earlier.
