Surely you see that threats of widespread tariffs in the way that trump presented them against an ally is a threat that was very obviously going to lead into further threats and aggression in the way that it has?

Tariffs do work when they’re targeted at specific industries or products, but when they’re blanket against an entire country it just puts prices up for everyone in both countries.

Trumps first presidency was horrendous and set the entire world down a very dangerous path and ended with an attempted coup and insurrection. Very peaceful. As you seem to care about the middle east, he also threw a petrol bomb on middle eastern relations by moving the us embassy in israel to jerusalem

And no, Trump absolutely isn’t doing the same thing with regards to Israel as Biden did or Harris would have. They wouldn’t have been good for Palestine no, but do you honestly think Kamala would have shared an AI generated video of her sunbathing in “Harris Gaza” with Netanyahu with a golden statue of herself behind? It’s going to get so much worse under Trump and it already has.

But he’s doing a million times better than Badenoch or Farage would be doing so no i don’t regret voting for Labour. If they do something that i’d consider worse than the tories would have done on a specific issue, maybe i’ll start to regret my vote, but he hasn’t.

 

To be honest I never heard anything about Greenland during that time, genuinely never heard of him mentioning that- not saying you’re wrong though. He definitely didn’t say it during the campaign trail at any time.

And tariffs are a wait and see. Loads of countries already have tariffs on the US so some of these are retaliatory. Let’s see if the medium and long term works out- Honda has committed to building loads of factories here now so that was the whole point. I do think there needs to be more strategy behind it though from what I can tell such as tariffing items that USA produces naturally in certain industries rather than these blanket tariffs

A few days ago approximately half of the jobs in the Department for Education were arbitrarily cut.

And yesterday, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a barrage of actions that would be absolutely catastrophic. Essentially looking to rollback just about every curb on pollution, whether land, air or water and also overturn the legal finding that greenhouse gases cause human harm. Even laws preventing companies from dumping toxic waste into rivers are in the firing line.

The aim clearly is to deregulate industries so they can do what they like, irrespective of harm.

But all this is buried underneath the daily irrational nonsense of the orange manbaby.

He and his chancellor are on the cusp of bringing in 6billion in cuts which will push countless thousands if vulnerable disabled people into poverty. Even the nasty party didn't suggest doing that.
