I know we had a goalkeeoer replaced but it was down to all the players today they should all give there salary to charity they are a disgrace to the shirt and I hope they read this

One of the worst performances I’ve seen in more than 40 years supporting Barnsley.

I’ve been watching us about 46 years and I’ve seen worse but today was pretty spineless and pathetic for most of the time.

I think the hopes and expectations were maybe raised a bit today, after what's happened this week.
I genuinely thought that the players would want to prove a few critics wrong, and would put in a better performance. And hopefully give Conor that new manager bounce!.
I thought they would be out of the starting blocks quickly and putting pressure on them.
And especially with their own awful form, I thought we'd take advantage of it.
But after making a good start to the 2nd half again and scoring, it looks like we went back to normal and wanted to hang on for the 1-1 draw.
Very, very, disappointing to be honest!.

Any team that is physical and gets in our faces we just fail miserably and it’s been like this for nearly two seasons now , at least Duff’s team could stand up for themselves.

We could also pick the negatives in Duff's teams and tactics etc.
But yeah I agree, we were rarely ever bullied out of games under him. And its something that other teams and managers will know of course!.

We were excellent for an hour against Lincoln the other week before we made subs to try & rest players. I just can’t see why we’ve sacked Clarke to give the job to Hourihane when he’s got the same group of players to work with

It’s all about selling tickets, fully agree.
Currently they won’t sell many & if Connor carries on like this for 10 more games, they will sell even less than they thought & we will be looking for yet another manager…

I agree but I think it's just a case of pure self preservation and deflection from Mladen, which sadly seems to be working.
Connor is already praising him and why wouldn't he when he's been given an opportunity that he probably hasn't earned.

And that's them using their business sense, which I reckon they also did regarding Collins.
I suppose its sensible financially, a case of give the fans what they want at this time of year, to help them sell more tickets.
But how much does it also cost in compensation when that happens ?.
And that's before we even wonder if they have any football sense, between them.

It's gotta be weak mentality mate. We've been speaking about it for months. As soon as we go ahead, it's retreat back straight away. We just camp in our own box, nobody making runs, nobody slowing the game down, or speeding it up when needed, nobody wanting the ball, Russell & McCarthy today must have been told they weren't allowed to jump to head ball away! Very poor performance. Let's just hope this is our danny wilson/lee johnson era, and next season it's the Johnson/Hecky era...

I wouldn't mind it in games where we go for a second goal, and look to win the game.
Only to then get caught out, and it ends up as a draw.
But I hate it though when we get caught out trying to just defend a one goal lead.
Its something we haven't ever really been able to do, apart from some quality seasons.

    I think that’s definitely it.

They probably felt it was a good time to sack him with Mansfield coming up next. Perfect chance for Hourihane to start with a win & to make it look like Clarke was the issue.

Reading all the stick Hourihane gets on here, twitter and around the ground, do you actually believe this? I've seen nothing but degrading comments to Conor for months now. Has nothing to do with early bird.

I think connor was naive setting up like that against that style of team on the run were in, we should have gone back to basics back 4 matched them and win your own battles man v man. we've been playing daft defence all year and thats why were **** nobody knows what theyre supposed to be doing off the ball

You've not heard any degrading comments from me regarding Conor
To strip it back to the bare threads, It was only a matter of time before Conor got the gig. In my opinion
Originally he was a board signing not as they would have you believe, that the recruitment team, picked him out
Who when he signd both parties knew he'd be doing more coaching than playing. A fact, which didn't come as a surprise to the club when he retired from playing.
For Conor I've nothing but praise and I wish him well for his future
A future that considering the mountain at Oakwell hes got to climb, will take its toll
He will have more sleepless nights than he's ready for.
The squad to put it bluntly are not good enough, my opinion and many on here will agree
We know it, the coaching staff know it but unfortunately those upstairs who's policy is buy cheap, hopefully polish etc and un earth a gem or two along the way, which hopefully can then be sold for a profit, have assembled a squad that lack the attributes needed and are now paying the price.
Both Colins and Clarke have been harshly treated in my opinion and were let down badly. Clarke in this last transfer window.
Unfortunately for Clarke he was too outspoken for those incharge and let his feelings be known both vocally and physically in his action with team selection which we witnessed on the pitch.
Home truths usually hurt but ultimately cost him his job.
Yes his directive was top six when he joined and no doubt this will be branded about as the reason they've sacked him
But it doesn't cover up the fact that injuries showed up how weak in depth and the lack of quality of players we have, let alone such a disastrous recruitment policy
Yes that will be another old chestnut that they will role out to excuse the season, injuries
The board know the unrest amongst the fans they are aware of the factors that Sky dodgy sticks etc are having and will have on season ticket sales
They are also aware of the apathy towards the club that is running through the fan base
So what better way, to appease the fans, and appear they are listening. Once again sack the manger give the fans another dream another direction another focus, again HOPE... whilst keeping to the same policy that they operate under.
What better time to do it
    Yes you've guessed
    Early bird season ticket time
And further to answer your question
Yes I do believe that early bird season ticket sales have hugely contributed to Clarkes sacking.
It gives the marketing team a tool to sell the nightmare we are witnessing as the ultimate dream going forward.
Can I add no animal or human life was endangered only inflated egos
