Kieren Flavell became the 35th player to make an appearance for us in the League this season. A bonkers number. Your class of 2025 and counting...
Interesting stat. I know coaches can be blamed to a point when there's underachievement from a team but how many of those players could actually be classed as good players? Be interesting to see what the consensus is. If the consensus is that there's only a handful (if that) of players who are decent then that raises still more questions about the competence of Sormaz and, I would say, the commonsense of the owners in frittering money away on garbage and contributing to financial problems. Wonder what folks think.
Just my thoughts... 1. Decent backup keeper. 2. Not good enough 3. Decent backup with a view to regular in a few seasons. Would very away with being a regular in league one. 4. Decent keeper, good distribution. Not ours though so can't really count. 5. Not ready yet. 6. Lazy. Petulant. Can't tackle. Can't cross. Definitely can't shoot. 7. Good enough for this level. 8. Ok at times. Prone to silly decision making. This is his ceiling. 9. Squad player with the ability to lead, however gets caught out with pace and balls over the top. One more season then he'll retire and probably become our next manager. 10. Doesn't offer enough. Too slow for me. 11. Love the guy. Real positive influence on the squad. Just not good enough for this level and needs to learn to head a ball before it bounces. 12. Not good enough 13. Needs to be allowed to attack players without the responsibility of defending. Probably not the right player for our formation. Can't defend as a WB 14. Can't knock his attitude. Shame he's not up to the level 15. First few games ran at players and looked threatening. That's stopped now. Maybe needs a full season to really know if he's good 16. Like a hyperactive spaniel chasing a ball. Not sure what he offers. A no from me. 17. Possibly one for the future. 18. As above 19. Has proven he can perform at this level. Had proven he's too lazy to do it consistently. 20. Needs to relinquish the cpt arm band and concentrate on his own game. 21. Good for league one. Won't succeed higher. 22. Needs better players around him so that he can flourish at this level. Has the quality on the ball, lacks it off the ball. Good enough for me. 23. Won't be missed 24. Breaks too easily. Backup at best 25. Possibly one for the future but seems to be stalling in his development 26. Not good enough as a set piece coach. Not likely to be good enough to work a miracle with these players 27. Best player by far, but must be frustrated at those around him 28. Has a really good Stepover that he likes to show off. Has finally started working hard but not good enough for me. 29. Wasn't good enough when on loan. Looks worse since the move became permanent 30. Wouldnt be a sub in my veterans team 31. Another whose development has stalled. Seems to be injury prone. One for the future maybe. 32. Not in any way good enough unfortunately. Looks out of his depth in Scottish football. 33. I wanted this kid to succeed, but he's clearly not good enough as he can't get ahead of the other strikers 34. One for the future but not ready for the physicality of regular first team football 35. Not ready yet. So, 3. Yes 4. Yes, but a loan 7. Yes 13. Depends on position 15. Maybe 20. Yes, on past season performances 21. Yes 22. Yes 27. Too good For the future 3. 5. 17. 18. 25. 31. 35. 35.
He got 3 minutes against Blackpool (see #18). But in a similar vein, I can see Bland getting some game time before the season is out.
Write it off. Build for next. Big mistakes in key positions - keeper & strikers - need to get it right next and we'll be fine.
Dunno. We'll find out - the last time we were this **** most of the same players went on to be one arguably our best team in the last twenty five years. Turns round quick. Lots of similarities to that 2015 period actually.
I understand getting the keeper wrong but how the actual **** did we get it wrong TWICE? Forcing out your contracted number one keeper who was in the best form of his life in order to bring in a rookie on loan was the most negligent bit of business I've seen in years. Up there with signing mike pollitt
Definitely we have mate. I mean, in the space of a few days late Jan/Feb we signed two players: 1 from France and 1 from America. Also during this period, we got 2 out on loan and brought another 2 in on loan. From the end of season (May 3rd) to the beginning of next season just think how many players we could sign....
