It’s been a fair while since I’ve been this dismayed with the club

Biggest difference between us and them is both them had very wealthy fans who were willing to put their own money into the club.

The thing that worries me is thinking of clubs we used to play regularly in Division One in the 90's. There's a pretty considerable list of teams who were up there with us, but also from places that aren't/weren't fashionable or glamorous who now are out of the top 4 divisions or no longer exist.

I'm thinking of the likes of Grimsby, Scunny, Darlo, Chesterfield, Oldham, Bury, Swindon, Notts County, Port Vale, Tranmere, Crewe, Bradford...

We're circling a ******* dangerous drain without consistency, strategy and investment. I don't think we have much of those going on, other than the owners burning equity to keep us level. I'm glad that that's happening, they're committing, but we feel directionless and I don't know where that change is going to come from over the long term.

If we go down the route of buying and selling, which I’m not opposed to btw, we need to change formation imo. 5 defenders - 3 cbs, they can potentially go for some money I.e the Kitching 4.5m but the two wing backs don’t really go for much as not many in the top leagues really play with wingbacks. 3 centre midfielders, notoriously never cost too much to buy, unless it’s a goal scoring midfielder such as Phillips but would probably score/create more as a 10 not an 8. 2 strikers not something I’m opposed to but they need to be able to play off each other.

What I’m trying to get at is we don’t have many saleable assists down to recruitment and positions. The most saleable assets are wingers and strikers. We could easily play 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 (maybe not easily) but we have players who could play there and with some recruitment in needed areas.

    GK

    O’keefe (or a signing)
    Any cb
    Any cb
    Gent(or a signing)

    connel (tackler)
    Nwakali (ball player)

Farrugia/ jalo (is a RW not a striker for me, he likes to run at people)
DKD/Phillips (think the latter will be sold though)
Humphs/Rodriguez/Lewis (both of the latter probably leave)

Watters (New striker signing if poss)
