I don’t agree with the concept of early bird pricing but it’s the way of the world I guess. Other than that seems reasonable though the flexi tickets in that form are pretty pointless.
Nah, they either want more people through the gate or they don't. Poorly thought through. Season tickets are priced to offer value for watching every game each season, offering different prices for renewal is just wrong. If they want to reward existing season tickets, do something meaningful with the utterly pointless loyalty points.
I was reasonably sure I was in the 'no' camp, but now the details are out, I dunno .... Bit of FOMO perhaps? I like my seat and the folk around it....
Completely agree with this sentiment. The club had a tough decision and they've made the easiest one that will lead to pain in other ways. Costs have risen and will rise more. Other clubs budgets are rising from owner subsidy, we're losing money hand over fist and its very obvious we need to turn the squad over with minimal saleable assets. We also know we'll drop season ticket volumes irrespective of price point. To peg season ticket prices seems illiterate in a business context and what it essential does is increase reliance on Parekh. The margin of loss either increases, or there are some serious cuts coming to compensate. As commented above, it feels desperate, and lacking in business acumen.
Honestly, I reckon if you went down in person and asked to speak to John Bird, or even Jon Flatman, explained your circumstances they'd work something out.
Ruuuuuude. I like most of the folk around us - I bring the average age down to somewhere in the lower 70's
You still sound passionate and should still be working at the club. Need more like you not spotty teenage interns.
My mate text me today. He's a Huddersfield fan and his is going up from £249.00 to £439.00. That's a 76% increase! I'll be renewing for me, my brother and my lad. It's the hope that kills you but it's a day out for us to spend together every fortnight or so.
BFC is a passion. You know that more than most! I had some great times in the job and will always remember the good times, the good people. Appreciate the sentiment but I’m more than happy with the decision I made. And that’s no slight on BFC. I remain a fan and for people like Jean in particular, for Conor now especially, I hope for rejuvenated fortunes moving forward.
All of which are nice but it won't mean anything unless the team performs and gets results on the pitch and unless there are big changes on and off field that just won't happen any time soon.
To be fair freezing the S / T prices an introducing the 15 game flexi is great when you take into account the amount of money they are said to be looosing. I've just offered to pay for mi 5 grandkids season tkts 3 want to an the older two said they'd av the money instead, no its a tkt or nowt, me an wife are tempted with the flexi, well done Barnsley F.C. i hate the atmosphere darn at the well but it'll be an excuse to see the granbairns more an visit Barnsley as well.
It's hard to knock the club for doing what they've done. I get the commercial and playing side are two separate departments but we are a football club if the product on the pitch is poor your going to struggle no matter the price. Great start but we need to show some ambition I think getting in a head coach in we can believe in will sell more tickets than a price freeze All fans wouldn't mind a reasonable increase if we see the club moving forward let's hope this doesn't mean cheap options are all we can afford because we've seen where that get us.
I predicted they would freeze prices a few week back and glad they did so. In view of a poor season and lack of enthusiasm amongst many I don’t think they had much choice tbh
I think they have a bloody cheek after what they have given us this season if I performed like they have this season I would be sacked Instantly dismissal Come on Barnsley football club we need to do more for the supporters than just wanting our money all the time
