I remember seeing somewhere that he had cancer but didn’t realise how bad it was.

When I first started watching F1, it was on BBC and he was a pundit. He was a bloody good one too. Never afraid to say anything no matter which feathers it ruffled.

Watching nowadays I’ve not seen as much of him but I’m sure he’ll have still been up and down the paddock on a regular basis.

    RIP.

Always found him engaging to listen to, obviously knew the sport inside out and was a proper character.

    RIP Eddie.

RIP. Remember him running his F1 team, giving Michael Schumacher his start in F1. Also his guest spots on Top Gear.

Think he announced it (or spoke about) back in December. He said it said aggressive and had spread so was sadly clear what that meant.

He also spoke of how Chris Hoy was a lot younger than him and urged people to take advantage of any checks they can have. Sound advice we should all follow and many of us probably say we are too busy to do.

Very brave that people think of others when faced with news.

The man who gave Michael Schumacher his F1 debut, brought colour and charisma to the paddock, and built a team that punched above its weight. The sport was better with you in it.

    RIP Eddie.

R.I.P. I’ve drifted away from F1 over the years but Eddie was a proper character & I liked him as a team owner & later a pundit.
