At the few away games that have some standing tickets, I'm pretty sure their prices were cheaper, eg Peterborough.
As Gally has pointed out. They have consulted the fans it affects and it doesn't go all.the way to the front as I understand it. As not to obstruct views from the disabled stand.
Safe standing you still have the seat there's just a rail infront we'll there was at Rotherham. They have some safe standing on the back rows. Not sure if those tickets were cheaper.
I think you'll find rail seating (safe standing) is the same price as normal seating. Birmingham is the same price as was Rotherham I believe. Peterborough have standing behind the goals London Rd. But rail seating where home fans and away fans share the same stand.
No it isn't. Not for safe standing. Which is different to a terrace. Peterborough as said. Have both.
Told them or not. Its not a request for permission. It's been decided because fans want safe standing in todays world. That most clubs if not all have decided warrants it if passed by the authorities. It was and is the most obvious place to install it. As for location all way to the front I believe you jumped the gun.
But consultatiom with fans over location etc would have been a good thing would it not? Also The club have literally said that it will go all the way to the front.
Barnsley safe standing is in the form of rail seats so you can either sit or stand. Best of both worlds.
Barnsley FC safe standing is in the form of rail seats. So fans can chose to either sit or stand. Best of both worlds.
Doesn't affect me in the slightest, and glad it doesn't. But I'm interested - if you have a seat in this area and they convert it to a rail seat, do you really have a choice whether to sit or stand? Surely if you sit and everyone else stands, you can't see the game?
They have been in consultation for over 12 months. With the FAB. For example. They've said it's located in that section and has been for quite a while Sometimes decisions have to be made. Or stagnate. And quite simply most if not all fans stand in that area. But they will still have the opportunity to sit. To those. Good luck with that one I say.
You do realise that corner fans have been standing for yrs. Why would you sit there in the first place. Sometimes we all have to move from our old favorite spots. For whatever reason. Taylor report. Modernisation if not rebuild.
The minutes of the fab meeting don't show any consultation. They show dictation. They've informed the fab group but haven't according to minutes consulted to be honest, just told.
A portion have, but as far as I've seen, not everyone stands from back to front. You're suggesting people will have a choice in future, but it seems to me they don't as that will be taken away by the club endorsing standing. Like I say it's not for me and if I were in that area I'd move away and vacate a space for someone who does want to stand. I do like the idea of the club having a space for those that wish to stand to do so. But you said "So fans can chose to either sit or stand. Best of both worlds" - that's not exactly true, is it?
Call it what you want. What I will say is NOT ONE of the FAB group (not board) That I can remember objected. Because they agreed to the project. As a good idea and as to where they intended putting it, Because its the OBVIOUS choice. I'll leave it at that.
How is it the obvious choice when you have already said it will block the view of the disabled stand?
You are assuming it's back to front. Believe me it isn't. And if I wanted to more or less guarantee to be able to sit it wouldn't be at that side. Most stand not all. I agree, but in general they are prepared to. If not then they really should move to a seat where its not rife. You may say it should be policed but it's nay on impossible unless you threw em all out. As for a choice it was more tongue in cheek cos they know what they are letting themselves in for.
