I've been a defender of this board but some of what he says makes me question there or his judgement. We have a squad capable of top 2 at worst top 3 not sure what data had been inputted to get that conclusion at no point this year have we looked a top 3 side. Did he really say Wattters xg is the best in League 1. I've no idea how it's calculated, is it expected goals so does that mean he misses loads of chances as 6 goals in 27 matches isn't anything special. On his general point about football in this country he's 100% right league 1 players costing 300k a year is unsustainable.

 

He knows its f**ked. That bit he did get right. Trouble is our owners cannot rectify it on their own, even if they were capable. In my simple mind the gate receipts + should at least pay for player costs but I doubt if they do. Other revenue should be used to maintain/improve the experience.

It seems we have got rid of one board of directors who knew the price of everything and the value of nothing...to some well meaning people who believe that XG and a computer screen is the remit for good players rather than assembling a squad with character.

Never mind the results and real world league position because the spreadsheet Mladen gave me says our players have the highest pass completion rate (ignoring its across the back 4 - or Connell being a wall to kick against for someone to get it straight back) and our striker has really high xg, the fact we dont actually score from the high xg doesn’t matter.

what’s that? We’ve conceded a **** load of goals because the defenders are useless at actual defending? No sorry I haven’t been handed that stat?
