The performances from those two youngsters was one of the few positives today.

Jalo has to start for the remainder of the season. Get shut of Humphrys and let this kid have his spot next season. With a run of games he’ll create chances and score goals.

Bland looked better than any of our senior RWBs this season so I’d be happy to bed him in to play there next season or I’m told he’s a defensive midfielder by trade. If that’s the case he can have Connell’s spot when he’s sold. I thought he showed great promise.

Top three players today. Bland, Jalo, Flavell.

Most likely the lowest wages on the pitch as well.

    Give more kids a chance

Thought Bland looked good and Jalo clearly made a difference. Hopefully CH will continue giving them opportunities.

It's a shame that Yoganathon isn't with us because I'd have liked to see him get a run of games.
Jalo made a big difference when he came on and big credit to Bland and Flavell too.

Agree that Bland didn’t look out of place at all today. Well done to him and he will be getting my vote in the man of the match thread on here.

Jalo looked a threat too. He offers something we don’t have, which is someone to get the ball and run at defenders. It scares the opposition to death. Sure, it might not come off every time when he either falls over or gets tackled but give me that over turning back and passing backwards for the safe option every day of the week.

Flavell recovered well from the goal because he was embarrassed by it it was a shocker

Just keep giving them the game time only way they will improve now is the perfect chance with nothing to play for.

Lol - its funny reading these thinking hang on everyone was screaming we needed these older experienced pros in the team.

now we need to get rid of the journeymen and play the younguns.

    Flip
    Flop

its not the age its the quality and also how theyre being setup and told to play.

There was a gaping hole down the right wing today.

benson wouldnt go into it or look to get in behind and after he went off the same thing happened with bland so they must have been instructued not to bomb down the right.

it totally nullified the right wing. The ball got past half way and was then passed back and into the middle to be lost or at worst back to our keeper.

    So frustrating to watch.

At least Jalo had a go in second half.

I remember years ago experience on this forum was a real buzz word. If your good enough your old enough.

The frustrating thing about that gaping hole on the right wing is that both Rodriguez and Humphrys are right wingers.

Where have you seen that Rodrigues is a right winger? I (obviously) don’t know a lot about him but transfermarkt seems to show him playing at centre forward during his short career.

I would’ve also said Humphrys was more left wing than right but could be wrong.

I'd love to see Humphrys play on the wing.

I’d love to see Humphrys play in the reserves until his contract is up at the end of the season.

As soon as Jalo came on and we went too a back 4 Bland came alive. Before that he looked like a left footed player playing on the right. Constantly coming back inside and just passing it square, he provided very little going forward. The way we play expects so much of the wing backs. Without any overlapping or assistance we expect them to beat several players and put in a world beating cross. The insult is that if they do even with our 2 attackers and 3 midfielders playing very narrow there isn’t anyone in the box making a run or looking like getting in the end of a cross.

Bland didn't play a single forward pass in that first half.

He certainly looked like a defensive midfielder who'd been asked to play at RWB.

He might become a great midfielder and he played much better in the second half, but... if you're a goal down and asked to play the role of an attacking wing back then give it a go.

I say I'd like him to play wing as I read his interview "I'm a winger not a striker" I don't think he has the attributes to play the wing either.

He would be good at walking football.
