Time to start looking for a flight back to America. Absolutely awful footballer. Really hope we dont take up the option in the summer. Especially when we have Lopata and Shepherd returning
Yeah seems like a lovely fella, and I wish him all the best. But he is absolutely terrible at his job.
I'd be fine with extending his contract with our option. As long as he was atleast 5th or 6th choice. Edit - though I suspect he's on too much to be that far behind in the pecking order.
Did he come over here thinking he was joining a basketball team? No other explanation for me cos he certainly isn’t a footballer. If we extend his contract I truly give up….
Goal scoring centre half’s probably score high on the spread sheet due to ‘resale value’ sadly they also need to be able to stay the right side of their man….
They also need to be able to deal with a lofted ball…. And not wait for it to bounce. Something we’re all told as a toddler….
Do we think he's one of Neeravs Championship 5. It wasn't a long interview but offered up quite a few sound bites. I thought it would be a big season for big Don but it hasn't happened if we can get another season out of Robbo I wouldn't take up his option.
We have told him not to let the ball bounce. Yesterday he headed it straight to a player stood about a yard in front of him and they ran through to score. You can't make it up.
I really want him to succeed, as I do every player. I want him to become a cult hero and the whole ‘USA, USA…’ thing to become something heard regularly from our singing section. But… I think I have now seen enough to conclude that he simply isn’t a very good footballer. In fact, he makes me tense every time the ball goes near him. There’s a bit of Darren Moore about him where a lot of his clearing headers go straight up in the air making his next task to be clearing his own clearance. And this whole allowing the ball to bounce in front of him is worse than amateur. I am generally not one for slating our own players. And his nice guy demeanour will probably prevent him from popping up on future’Barnsley’s Worst XI’ polls, but try as I might, I just can’t see a domineering centre back in him.
Thing is those faults could and should have been ironed out by the coaching staff within the first couple of months but they haven't but then again they haven't been able to teach MDG how to take a legal throw in in two years so it's no surprise Pines hasn't been taught how to defend properly.
I can't think for the life why he is not played up front. A , he won't drop a bollock at back so we wont conceded B he might win a few balls up top when it's knocked long. SImple really he can't do worse than our current no 9
I liked the look of that young James. Seems ages since we saw glimpses of his potential. Is he still with the U21s? Would be a shame to put all that time into him only to release him for another club's benefit
I’ve heard a lot about this James but I’m certain if he was first team ready we’d have seen him by now.
