Have you had another drink, mate? You get weird on here sometimes, just completely change the conversation. Because I said I think the money should be spent elsewhere I'm in the middle? Or because I said I'd take the better managers with a buyout clause? I have no idea what you're referring to. I've said for months they're incompetent. But they're not greedy or taking money out of the club. That's factual.
Because you support your club, you're happy them spending more money yet you're questioning why actual life long fans should? I don't really care if people decide not to go, it's their choice and I completely understand their frustration. I'm not actually sure why the conversation has turned into this though.
Yes I know mate and I agreed with you. All I added was I felt we needed to go back to old transfer way of doing things instead of pissing money up the wall with players like Cosgrove.
If there’s a group constantly accusing him of taking money out of the club , chanting abuse at you , going on line repeating ludicrous financial impropriety accusations when the opposite is true , I think the odd remark is justifiable. People might not agree with his description of the squad or the decisions made on managers or club staff but at least he’s fronting up and putting his side directly, fair play to him .
There's as good a chance that we would still be having this debate, and be further in financial sheeite.
I get that point but the January transfer window was a disaster and we clearly have a custodian. It's also been mentioned that he/them aren't going to walk away. Maybe it's disrespectful asking him to invest more. However, he definitely needs to be wiser. Unfortunately people like myself rightly or wrongly associate that with spending less and something being sub-standard.
Oh ********, he's turning into Chansiri. Let's hope he doesn't start crunching up £20 notes and taking calls midway through forums
We just need to be smarter with our recruitment for me. Stop signing loads of players that we hope might be good enough, in positions we don't need. Start more targeted signings for positions we need to strengthen, and a more proven quality. Smaller squad supplemented by our own young uns. We waste so much money on salaries for poor players we simply don't need.
This absolutely is key. The amount of players we have in each position is amazing for a club of our size and financial status. We must have at least 45 wing backs. We've got 87 central midfielders. All joking aside, we need 2 players for each position essentially, then any injuries are covered by young players on a temporary basis. We've had 4 keepers this season in about 35 League games. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I actually can't fault anything he says. You may not like his answers, but it's the truth. I'm always willing to bet the majority of fans don't know how to read a balance sheet and are stuck in the Championship Manager game style of club ownership. It's like the people calling to sell the club... Who to? We can't sell to the fans because we wouldn't make anywhere near enough to cover costs. Attendance and season ticket sales barely cover 10% of wages across the season, never mind funding transfers When the club try to attract foreign investment by 'Americanising' some elements (a market they have clear contacts within), they are slated by fans. The days of having a sugar daddy owner are well in the past. Any other consortium coming in would have the same issues with generating revenue within a town that is as socially and economically deprived as Barnsley is. Criticism where it's justified is fine. That's how you improve. But the personal attacks and chants are by those who are ignorant of how to ruin a successful multi million pound (dollar) business.
Why worry about them? Why spend mental energy on it? He’s got far bigger problems yet he’s getting drawn into a very small minority view that is completely inaccurate anyway. His comments will fuel the fire rather than dampen it. He could simply have said it’s not true but he’s let it get to him and attacked them. He can think that, but you can’t say that out loud. He wants their season ticket money yet he says that. It’s just stupid. Which in itself shows more about his character. He’s probably not used to the scrutiny and he’s struggling being seen as a failure. Id rather he channelled his efforts into fixing the mess he’s got us into rather than a petty squabble with a tiny minority.
If you disagree with some on political posts or whatever else they won't engage about football that's fair enough. I find it ironic some wanting us to break even or slating a bloke putting in 8million a year.
The simple fact is the club was left with money in the bank when they took over, I know Covid happened but we are now 4 years on from that and we are a division lower and losing £6 million a year. The knuckle draggers might not know one end of a balance sheet from another but if I was responsible for the state of the club as it currently is I’d be keeping my gob shut.
Dejphon Chansiri has put in more than 15x the amount Neerav has but is quite heavily criticised by Wednesday fans. Competency is seldom measured by the losses you can underwrite.
