...It's the small things that show what people in Barnsley are really like. We are over in the UK for three weeks visiting family in Doncaster and I realised first day I had left my UK debit card behind and we needed some cash. We decided to call at our bank in Barnsley and rolled up at Court house park only to realise we had only a couple of £20 notes and one £1 coin. We really needed enough loose change for a couple hours parking. We optimistically asked someone if they could change a note and a lady just gave us a pound coin to save us having to come back after an hour just to top up the parking. I know it was a small gesture from a stranger but was very much appreciated. The fabric of the town has changed a lot and money is tight for many but people from Barnsley are still the best.
