Wow, Gareth Ainsworth apparently agreed a deal to become Gillingham manager. Talk about rewarding failure.
Try CEO's of water companies and many others on rewards for failure. You and I have to stump up to put things right. I don't think Ainsworth is on his own to be able to walk into jobs (admittedly on his last 2 appointments not pulled any trees up.) His longevity at Wycombe was cos he was keeping the club on its feet with some success. No money to spend. Free transfers etc. But tbh Football is far from entertaining at tarn at minute. Wycombe under him it was horrendous. but needs must in their case.
Don't think anyone could get Shrewsbury competing in L1 with their budget to be fair. That said......they'll probably bag at least a point when they come to Oakwell
Just catching up on this on the BBC’s EFL podcast. Doesn't seem two minutes since finishing mid-table in league one under Steve Cotterill wasn’t good enough for Shrewsbury & they decided to get shut due to the style of play. Hopefully they’ll enjoy the wonderful football in league 2 next season. To quote Mick McCarthy ‘that went well’
Loyalty is a naive word in footy, and there's hardly any of it about anymore. I don't get the appeal of Ainsworth, he got Wycombe competing more with their dirty tactics, and then he flopped at Qpr. Although it is Lg Two that he's now dropping down to, so I'm guessing he'll be thinking about promotion now at Gillingham. Not surprisingly though, Shrewsbury are well peed off with him. Saying that he promised them everything, but delivered nothing!.

Very poor team mate. They and Crawley are probably the worst teams I’ve seen us play this season. Not sure how anyone could get a tune out of either.
