Not a tip, but a memory.

27 years ago today, during our Premier League season, I missed the infamous match against Liverpool at Oakwell because I was called into work (in Northants, although I was living in York at the time) on the Saturday because the IT project I was working on was way behind schedule. To my intense frustration, nobody else responded to the call, apart from a middle-manager type who turned up late morning, just in time to go to the pub for a liquid lunch. I soldiered on regardless, growing more and more irate as the afternoon wore on, heartened by the knowledge that I would at least be able to follow the Barnsley score. So you can imagine how the news from that game went down with me, and I wasn't even aware of the full horror of it until the next day. This was, by any metric, a bad day, but I stuck it out until 5pm, packed up my stuff and checked the racing results before I left the office, to find that my one selection of the day, a reasonably-sized 18/1 E/W punt on Hunters of Brora in the Lincoln handicap, had prevailed by a neck. About 30 seconds later I was in the pub. I don't remember leaving.

Epilogue: My bit of the project was ready on time. Nobody else's was. B*stards.

You obviously mean the home game with Liverpool, as we beat Liverpool away in the November of 1997.

Midnight Gun or Oliver Show. Maybe both each way. Oliver Show is 30.0 on the exchange at moment. Should be a few places available. Bit of a lottery though so no point putting the mortgage on

Sean has been racing at Meydan so is definitely race fit. Last 2 races have been good ones behind Godolphin horses. Just a bit worried he seems to find a bit of trouble in his races though whether that's intentional to preserve the handicap mark who knows. Mr Professor won this last year but his form since then has been shocking and he had a 4 month break and a change of trainer so obviously a few issues there.
Not a race to go overboard with though. Good luck !

The 1.50 is intriguing, although undoubtedly tricky. Pressure's On looks to have been primed for this with his good Wolverhampton run last time. But Ocean Of Dreams looks to have bags of potential after only three runs for Aidan O'Brien. New trainer Archie Watson has proved adept at readying horses first time out. But at 50/1 I also have to have a small saver on Cynosure. The booking of James Doyle is interesting, and he may have further improvement to come. I'll take those three against the field.

It really was not a hard choice at all. I read it had been running in Bahrain and improving with every race. The last run was on 7th March. The Horse had been in the sun, which my old mentor always said brings them on. Another plus is that Billy had been over there riding it.
