You can’t be a Barnsley fan and not love Connor. He was our hero on the pitch and when he left, he told us he loved the club and would return and he did. The dream was that he would come back and take us back to the prem and keep us there. He knows more about professional football than any of us will ever know, but he’s now learning a new profession. He is learning how to recruit, manage, develop and get the best out of people. He has mistakes to make along the way and he’s already started with Phillips. Leadership is not just about being the boss and expecting everyone to do what you say. I can see that a lot of our players, Phillips included, have not been giving their best, but I can’t see how Connor has made that situation any better. He now needs to stop and think about what he does next, he needs to listen and make good judgements. He needs someone to bounce opinions off. Connor, I don’t know whether you read this board (I wouldn’t if I were you), but you need to know that we want you to succeed. You’ve got enough games left to do it!
We don't know what's been said before Phillips was dropped, but given CH has had a better career than him, I for one would give the benefit of the doubt to CH.
I’m feeling the love more for Roberts. Came back to play, and has done just that. Maybe not quite the player he was, but still better than anything else we have in that position. I feel as meh about Conor as I do about the club. Disappointed he hung his boots up when his presence might have helped us this season, and he’s gone from being part of why I looked forward to the season, to party to how it’s just drifting away aimlessly.
I think Connor should have kept his players registration he could have at least gone on for 20 minutes to show the others what to do and how to do it. I dread to think where we would be without Roberts but after all he is a Barnsley lad , it does make you think if we had a team of Barnsley lads
Some people on this board are so involved with showing off how clever they are that they don’t make a contribution. That’s how spell check spells it so bugger you.
