Why? Some people support the club, come rain or shine. We all want better, but many like myself, who have supported the club for over 60 years, will do so whatever happens in the Close Season. I've seen better; I've seen worse. My Overseas iFollow subscription will automatically renew, and I'll be up at 06:30 PST (sometimes earlier), supporting the Super Reds.
A combination of errors from individuals cost us the game today . Again and far too often this season. I think today in reflection , it proved two things One.... the defence were as weak as p1.ss under Clarke and secondly, they are still no better. They can't defend for a full 90 minutes between them. Without making mistakes. If its not one of then, its all of them switching off at times One criticism on Conor and his coaching staff, in my opinion Bland should have been substituted sooner, Bland should have come off and replaced at half time or just after, not on the 82nd minute No pace or urgency in his game today. Sorry to say .
Let's face CH hasn't got the job because of how well he's done since taking over he's got it because one by one the other options have disappeared. I'm guessing the board wanted Warne but wouldn't pay him what he was on at Derby and franchise FC have leaving CH as the only option. So we face next season with probably all of the squads saleable assists sold and the replacement being signed by the utter failure of a DoF who in two windows as left the club without a functioning defence and an attack that if DKD is taken out of it looks just as weak. Also the much vaunted midfield folds like a pack of cards when pressed. I hope CH as a 4 Month cooling off period written into his contact because if nothing changes above him he'll go into next season with both hands and feet tied behind his back.and he may want to change his mind
That’s kind of my point that he’s not good enough to get in the squad. Unless that’s because of an injury we don’t know about.
But it does matter. A defence that does not have a hard working midfield in front of it will always concede.
It’s not even gone in his six yard box. You’re suggesting he should dive forwards & stop that ball getting to the far post. I don’t think it’s possible. You may well have a point about the over use of his feet, I’ve noticed that too but I don’t think it cost us today.
If Russel is quality in our midfield then I’m astonished he is truly awful despite his 2 goals last week, get rid We should be aiming much higher he’s dogger and a passenger despite what king Connor sez.
He looks to me like he wants to save everything with his feet, I’d suspect he came to goalkeeping late maybe and once was an outfield player looking at him. I’m not sure he’s to blame today but I wouldn’t be playing him next week, we are a poor team in front of him but maybe a different keeper may have saved a couple… it’s all conjecture though isn’t it, we’ll never know.
But what would be the point in us playing Gauci when the seasons over & he won’t be here next season. We might as well give him a run. If Smith’s fit then it makes more sense to have a change as they’re both on our books.
Been to work today, never work BH usually. Came home, logged onto the BBS and thought someone had resurrected an old thread - l didnt even know we had a game. Wish I'd not logged on now...
Jalo played the game in Curry’s pocket. Russell was anonymous. McCarthy just isn’t good enough, finished up on his ass when pressured. Earl played too high up the pitch - three at the back. Bland is a good prospect and this was a big learn from him, never been tested like this before. Flavel is there because he’s all we’ve got. Phillips had a touch of the maungies when it wasn’t on a plate for him. All that and we rattled one of the best sides in the league. Subs improved nothing. Football in the first twenty five was top class. We’ve got a building job on.
I can't agree I'm afraid. The midfield folds like a cheap suit,,,,, it's the defence folds like a pack of cards.
Imho Leyton Orient are exactly what I expect in this division, pretty average players ( couple of exceptions) very well coached. Very physical and strong application with plenty of desire but its the coaching that's made them play off candidates....I was very interested in how we would cope today and for 25 mins we were great and the only footballing team on the pitch even at half time I thought I was confident we would return home victorious. Oh dear oh dear same old second half we have seen all season....we literally rolled over, with that midfield weak as dishwater and a defence all at sea. As mentioned a million times ....having technically good players on a spreadsheet doesn't equate to much when you are playing against physical players with the right attitude and application. Orient proved exactly what I have long believed about this division....the more successful teams just have the right attitude and mentality.....we do not. We need some better stock in the summer and rid of players who don't match up....I'm sure Conor knows who.
