So what's gone wrong at Oakwell?

Clough: I can't quite put my finger on it. If I could, I would. Having said that, I would probably say it's down to the fact that the boardroom is interfering too much with what they have no bloody business to, and that's what's going off on the pitch!

What do you think of Mr Hourihane taking on the job?

Clough: Oh I think it's a terrible decision, I honestly do. For a young man like Conor - who those supporters essentially regard as a club legend - with absolutely no managerial experience, to be expected to turn this particular situation around in his first job as a professional manager, by people who have absolutely no right to be near any football club at all, is nothing short of criminal. It's going to take a miracle, an absolute miracle!

So, finally, you haven't got much confidence for the close season, the Summer transfer window, and the next season?

Clough: That's a lot of questions in one there, son! Ohh, I don't know... The club's obviously not looking too well, the gates are down slightly. I think first of all they need to recognise what makes a good player, get off their backsides, and their computers, and go sign a few. Because, to be honest, son, THEY HAVEN'T BLOODY GOT ANY!!!
