    Don’t shoot the messenger. It is a football forum.

    But it sparks up conversation. It seems to be quite common knowledge to people in and around the club that DKD will be leaving ‘very early in the transfer window for £3 million’. I haven’t been told a club.

    Wherever he goes, whenever he goes, he'd be a good buy for anybody for that kind of money, an i wish him all the best, the problem then is who do we get an for RrrrrMutch

    It's obvious he's going given the season he's just had. I wish we could keep him like but it just won't happen.
    We're ******* desperate for cash, the club is losing £650k a month due to extremely poor management by Neerav, JAQ, Sormaz etc. They have to start trying to balance the books and reduce the bloated and unbalanced squad further. I also expect Philips to depart but the fee for him will likely be less than £1m.

    I heard Derby were tracking him, Warne rated him but then got the bullet, not heard owt since.

    To be honest , as much as I rate him, we need to sell him to be able to rebuild. £3m would be good business given his age imho

    if we can get any money for Philipps and Russell I would sell them too, start from fresh. You can pick up decent players at this level for 500k so we could create a spine to the team with that money.

    The worry is always what they replace those players with, if it's an exercise in just raising cash and replacing them with cheap/free punts then regression continues unfortunately.

    Nobody is paying 10m for a 27 year old player untested above League 1.

    Not to be a negative Nigel, but do we trust Sormaz and this board (if we get 3 million) to spend that on players, or say it's being absorbed into the Club to cover running costs?

    And, should a miracle happen and we do spend money on players, do we trust these people to buy the RIGHT players? And not jam pack the squad with mediocrity...

    A broken clock is right twice a day, they have dropped on the odd gem, but they're few and far between imo.

    I think that's pretty fair.. I'm sure all the 'Luke Steele for England' brigade will say he's worth 30 million.. but heyho.
    Got to go.. he's the only one worth owt. And we need to finance a rebuild.. If we tried to sell ten of the others we wouldn't get 3 million..
    Nobody wants the ones we don't want...

    Yeah not heard anything since, but Warne was keen in Jan but Derby obviously had plans on sacking PW so nothing materialised.

    He’s 28 in November, no way we’re getting more than £4m max I’d say and that would be an achievement.
    DKD himself knows this is his last chance at a lucrative contract and his agent will be on it.
