Sorry but they are not unique in resenting a player going. They have their reasons whether I agree or not. Is it just cos they are booing louder than Barnsley fans manage in similar situations? (Kane, Winnall, Cole 'he downed tools at Xmas')
Felt gutted for Conor Bradley too when they sang his name once he'd been replaced by Trent. He looked really upset. There was applause for Trent as well, but I agree I don't see why you'd boo someone who has been instrumental in winning the league.
I said what I felt about the situation on an earlier thread re him. They are roundly pathetic. And aiming their frustration towards the wrong person.
Liverpool fans booing Trent Alexander Arnold off the pitch when he's been there from the age of 5 year old Michael Owen says it was 100% true about Steven Gerrard trying to leave and got death threats because same happened to him! He says " I am supposed to be one of them, my own people, but yet they treat me like this, I still think about it to this day "
Not many will remember this. Back in 2004 just before Michael Owen was about to leave for Real Madrid, Michael's sister was almost kidnapped.. until she told them she was pregnant and they ran away.
There are ways to leave a club I suppose, hammill, hourihane, left after giving their all for our club, TAA you say would be in the same bracket for Liverpool, it's a strange one. It's probably frustrating, some players down tools, but some don't. Real Madrid are a special club, and hard to turn down
Some booed Mick McCarthy when he came back with Man City. Same with Craig Hignett when he came back with Blackburn. Morons are at every football ground.
You can remember Barnsley fans booing George Lillycrop and Harry Tufnell (add smiley face due to ancient technology at my end)
Can remember Howard getting booed before he signed for Sheff Utd and sat in the corner stand - left his seat and the game
To me it's a situation where he should go with everyone's blessings and thanks. He's been a stand out performer for them for quite a few years, they've had some great value from him. There's idiots at every club though.
Nah b0llox to that. I’ve had a lifetime of the media ramming it down our throats that “ Liverpool fans are the most knowledgeable/ best in the world”. My experience puts them as the most lacking in class. Just remember their behaviour at THAT game when they scraped a win vs 8 players. Arnold (refuse to call him “Trent”) has been a great servant. He just scored a key goal at Leicester. Awful reaction. By contrast I remember singing Hourihane’s name for 45 mins non stop at Fulham when we knew he was leaving.
Exactly, and I'm sick of hearing this annoying myth about scousers. But they aren't doing any different here, to what fans do at every other club!.
