Wants Man Utd to win tonight because Spurs beat Leeds at Elland Road to send them down. Nothing against Everton who beat Bournemouth though? Skewed logic.
I can't think of a fixture between two current Premier League teams where I would want them both to lose more.
There does seem to be a deep dislike towards Tottenham round these parts. Never understood it. I know Man Utd are a lot of people's second team though. My Dad won't admit it but he grew up in the era when it wasn't so much clubs were idolised but individual players. He had posters of Spurs, Man Utd players etc on his walls. Doubt he'd be that gutted if Man Utd won tonight to be honest. Even though he's Barnsley and Spurs.
I’m no fan of either but I would like Spurs to win just because I think Ange would be hilarious after. I’d love to see him giving the media both barrels.
To be fair, there were quite a few Spurs fans at our school. And all of them are still Spurs to this day. We even had a lad try to set up a Newcastle fan group in 1976. I can recall him showing off his fancy supporters club book. Man Utd and Leeds were the major ones. Followed by Liverpool and then all the spoilt brats followed Wednesday!
This is the deciding factor in how i want the game to finish. Ange giving it the big ******** like on TNT Sport and then resigning on the spot to say that he’s got a job at Juve or Milan or somewhere.
I want a Spurs win as it would really piss Arsenal off if Spurs, Chelsea and Palace all won trophies in the same year!
In much the same way, I’ve never understood people supporting two teams - and / or a team a team hundreds of miles away from their home with no familial or past affinity to the area. You aren’t alone on this forum in having two teams - but your affinity to spurs often comes across stronger than that to Barnsley. I mean, each to their own - but it’s not something I can understand to be honest.
I don’t even rate him as a manager to be honest but I think the media have it in for him. If he was from a ‘football nation’ like Holland or Portugal rather than Australia then I don’t think he gets the hammer he has. And I think he’s a thoroughly decent bloke with good morals.
Spurs in the Premier at home to us. It was kicking off near the turnstiles afore kick off. Blokes (5 or 6 of em) in their 40/50s I reckon. Walking In front of 3 of us, with them wanting to go join the fracas. One of em. Giving it large, to his mates, whilst rolling his sleeves up. "Cam on we're the fakkin spurs. Norvern barsturds" He looked round noting mi red n white scarf giving us that kill look lol. I sez (i must av had a brain fart) "We're Barnsley what's up wi thi" Bit of an uncomfortable walk (well they were big fekkers) to the turnstiles lol. Luckily plenty of cops around in arms reach. Come on man utd. Beat them Savvern cants.
Some of them had a bad trip "ap norf" when they came to Oakwell around then, bless 'em! I believe some them lost their attire having been chased from Graham's Orchard to the train station...
That's exactly how I see it, I just can't decide between one side scraping through a terrible game or one side getting completely tonked. The former would probably be funnier but the latter more entertaining.
Played em 3 times in just over a month. (Last one towards end of season) I have to say Ginola was outstanding in all 4 games. Had a reputation as being idle. Far from it. Box to box player. Record W1 D2 L1
