As I write this, I'm in the surgical ward at Burton Hospital. I was admitted yesterday in severe pain due to a kidney stone which has decided to make a run for it. I know this is unlikely to be representative of the whole system, but the ward is staffed by a majority of immigrants (a Bulgarian and several from the Indian subcontinent). Most of the indigenous people working here are cleaners and orderlies almost all the clinical staff are immigrants. The consultant is Indian and the surgeon who did my procedure is (I think) Greek. ALL 6 of the patients in here are elderly or middle-aged white British men. For those vehemently opposed to immigration, I hope you will be able to cope with this when you find yourself in hospital.
Wow sorry to hear this B. Hope you recover soon. My young lad was admitted to Ninewells hospital early this morning with kidney stones. Fkn painful I believe. He is now waiting on results of scans. Hopefully all goes well as I sit here in the pub watching football. Spoke to him earlier and pain relief is working.
I don't think you'll find many people who are actually against immigration. The doctors and clinicians who are making you better are educated people who will be net contributors to the system. What a lot of people have a problem with is illegal immigration, usually by men, the vast majority of whom are unskilled and constitute a net cost to the system. Get well soon.
Yeah, send em back or burn em alive like last year in Manvers. Bet they're all following Sharia law. And as an aside best wishes to you mate. Speedy recovery.
They gave me codeine - no effect, just made me sick, then oral morphine - no effect and was sick again, finally a diclofenac suppository which despite the sexual assault was very effective. I had them before in 2016, extremely painful, similar to childbirth they say. Anyway, I'm better now, they put a stent in. I well remember Wembley against Millwall having to dash off for a pee every 10 minutes.... Hope your lad is ok Ian
Such a shame that you even have to mention this, though it'll not sink in with the racists. Anyway, get well soon, and be sure to thank wholeheartedly those who've looked after you.
Yes I know, I was in two minds to be honest. In the end I thought it needed to be said. The staff have beed fantastic as they have every time I've been in hospital. I'll get my wife to bring some goodies in when she comes to take me home tomorrow. It's not much but I'll write to my MP and urge her to lobby for a proper pay rise - I see they are talking about industrial action again.
Don’t agree with that Whilst I’d like to think that forms most people’s opinions, I don’t think it does. The number of people to which that applies is actually, whilst not completely insignificant, not that high. There will be, sadly, plenty of people who in a situation similar to Brush would not appreciate the great work done for them by the migrants - but who would whinge about being treated by foreigners. I was in hospital too this past week. I heard it myself. Absolutely mind numbingly stupid some folk. The staff were professional and gave him great care anyway. Personally I’d have told him to **** off home - the exact words he’d used to them.
Hope you're ok mate. I must say I've got nothing but good things to say about Burton Hospital. Went to their A+E rather than Derby after I ruptured my Achilles in December and was in and out within an hour.
Derby is a bit of a nightmare to be honest, location wise. Burton isn't wonderful, a lot of departments are in temporary accommodation, including A&E. But it was in need of some serious maintenance so at least it looks like it's getting done.
Just been in Greggs in Leeds bus station and seen poor girl behind the counter racially abused - usual stuff this is my country not yours. Then went on tell poor girl she'd been to jail and she'd better watch out - at this point she hit the emergency siren. Sad state of affairs- I know which of the two of them is making a more worthwhile contribution to society.
