They didn't do that out of charity though, did they? At any point if they'd deemed him not up to scratch he'd have been binned off without a second thought.
When John McAtee played at Oakwell against us in April he was booed by the Ponti. I remember him looking round with a confused face!
Not really sure what the player has done wrong here, he appears to have stayed professional in his final season. Also worth pointing out that according to Alan Joyce a highly respected journalist in his last contract negotiations Liverpool agreed to review and start new negotiations with him at end of 22/23 season which they failed to do. In Liverpool defence this time period ties in with their sporting director leaving and Klopp deciding to inform the club about leaving so understandable why they delayed. Liverpool knew last Summer he wasn’t renewing so had 2 chances to sell him and by all accounts RM are offering £1m to allow him to leave ‘early’.
It was a bit naive of his advisors and himself to announce he was leaving when there's still games to be played. I know it's been speculated for months that he was leaving for Real Madrid, but while nothing was announced as far as the boo boys knew anything could have happened. Now it's out there it gives the idiots the chance to give him abuse when he plays.
Ahh so that's why you don't join in with the many 'Memories of..' threads on here lol. You weren't actually around then, in the 80s ehh.
Aye mate! I only have a couple of vague memories from the premier league season. I've obviously watched them back as Ive aged, but would love to experience it now. One day maybe... I'm only 31, 32 this year, so plenty of time... hopefully
...and rightly so. That lad pu his heart and soul into playing for us. Top player with a top attitude. Wish he was still with us.
Yep, I know his finishing was hit & miss, but nobody can fault his effort for us. I wouldn't mind his brother playing here...
Yo kid lol, I was going to start one next, about the Viv '93 season. So that's when you were born ehh. So are your favourite memories, from the early 00's onwards.
2006 play off is where I really started getting into it properly mate. Like genuinely heart pounding stuff haha. I remember plenty before that, but that's when I'd say I 'fell in love' was 05/06
Ohh ok, the Andy Ritchie promotion season ehh. Yeah I promise that season will be covered, eventually.
