My advice now Basil lad, is relax, take it easy, get the kettle on, and watch some good films.

Young lad got ready for op at five last night then a bigger emergency came in so op postponed. I went to visit last night but he was sleeping. Possibly because of pre op drugs so I just left. Sleeping and no feeling the pain was best for him.
Now just waiting on news of him being operated on.

He probably did, similar mindset to my in laws. They voted for Brexit because of immigration and think all immigrants should have to speak English. They have a second property in Spain where they used to spend the majority of the year and don't speak Spanish beyond "dos cervezas." They don't see the obvious hypocrisy and have been fuming that their time in Spain is now limited. It'd be hilarious if it weren't so depressing.

It could, but it’s not. I appreciate the banter, but I don’t like my honesty questioned.

I spent all day Friday starving, hoping to be in theatre only to be told at about 8pm that it wasn't going to happen. All they could give me was a couple of slices of toast and a banana :(

Fingers crossed for tomorrow, keep us posted Ian.

As far as I know he has been in theatre for three hours.
I’m now starting to get a bit anxious.

Fingers crossed Ian, keep us updated on your lad.

I haven’t had kidney stones but do have a gall stone, will end up needing the gallbladder removed I suspect.

Between 5 July and 22 March 2025 there were 24,103 returns, the highest 9 month period compared to any 9-month period since 2017. Prior to this from Jan – Sept 2017, returns were 25,225.

Of total returns since 5 July 2024:

there were 6,339 enforced returns of people with no legal right to remain in the UK
3,594 were of foreign national offenders (FNOs)
    6,781 were asylum related returns
From 5 July 2024 to 22 March 2025 there have been 46 charter flights for returns to countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.

Net migration was down in 2024 compared to 2023; the bulk of this achieved in the second half of 2024, and the current figures suggest for 2025 net migration will fall again.

So apart from cutting the net number of people arriving in the first place, and removing more people with no right to stay than the previous incumbents, nothing…

I just got a text from Michael and he is out. Sore and tired.
I’ll visit him later this evening.
Thanks to all for giving concern.
    I am so relieved.
