18th. Hourihane will follow Sormaz’s plan & try to play high pressing football with a squad completely unsuited to it. We’ll eventually sack Sormaz & Hourihane after it (unsurprisingly) doesn’t work whilst in a relegation battle & we’ll bring in a more experienced manager to get us over the line.
Between 10th and 6th. there were slight signs that we can play at the seasons end and Bland, Yonganathan, Shepard, Lopata and Lofthouse are looking better than what we have if we play them in the right position. If Houriane can influence some better players to come as has been suggested it will look completely different (Again) DKD will be sold but most of that needs to be spent on a proper No9...
Promotion, for me, the Fans want it, the Club needs it, an the Tarn Centre alone deserves it. C,O,Y,R.
Not as bonkers as those who barely give Conor a go by saying he has to go if we’re out of contention by next year. How about some patience and understanding for a young manager/coach making his way. Just saying it might take more than a year.
For 2 thirds of last season we were chasing the playoffs, it was only a monumental collapse and a lack of a striker that saw us fall well short in the end. If Conor can deliver the improvements that he talks about then I don't see why we can't challenge again.
Wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if you were right but I just can't see Conor letting it happen, everything he has said so far suggests that he's going to be heavily involved with everything.
I’ve just got this hope that all this talk of playing a high press is just to get the job & to get the boards backing over the summer. I just can’t see anyway it could be a success unless he was allowed to make wholesale changes which I’m assuming we can’t afford.
Unless there is a monumental improvement in our defence then we will be no more than mid table. If Hourihane can sort that out and also bring in a forward or 2 then maybe play offs a possibility.
